- The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has been reportedly delayed
- IceUniverse claims that the phone previously set to release on April 15 will now debut in May or June
- The delay is most likely due to geopolitical reasons and not due to quality issues
Samsung has been working on its next major flagship, the Galaxy S25 Edge, for a while now. The upcoming flagship will rival the Apple iPhone 17 Slim with its unmatched thinness and slim design. However, a new leak courtesy of IceUniverse claims that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has been delayed. Now, it might be a while before you can get your hands on it.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Now Set To Launch In May Or June
According to a tweet by tipster IceUniverse, the Galaxy S25 Edge is postponed. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge which was earlier set to debut on April 15, has now been delayed to May or June.
IceUniverse previously hinted at the delay, saying, “there’s some bad news I don’t want to tell you on April Fools’ Day because it’s true”. While the tipster hasn’t shared the exact reason behind the delay, it is likely due to the sudden death of Han Jong-Hee, the Co-CEO of Samsung Electronics.

The impeachment of South Korean President Yoon Seok Yeol also seems to have contributed to the delay. According to a report by ET News, there are no quality or software issues in the S25 Edge, and the delay is likely due to geopolitical reasons.
Furthermore, Samsung seems to have also informed three carriers in South Korea about the delay in launch. The S25 Edge launch event will be an only online affair where the company will now reveal the specs, price and availability.
With the iPhone 17 Air unlikely to launch anytime soon, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is the only slim phone in sight. The good news is that the delayed launch could give Samsung enough time to generate hype around the product and boost sales.
S25 Edge Expected Specifications
The main highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will be its shockingly design. The phone will measure just 5.84mm and weigh 162 grams. For comparison, this is slimmer than the S25 Plus, which is 7.3mm thick and weighs 190 grams.
It will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor like the rest of the S25 lineup. With a 6.56-inch 2K AMOLED screen, Samsung wants to position itself between the S25 and the S25 Plus.
The downside of slim design? Well, you compromise on battery life as the S25 Edge will reportedly pack a 3,900mAh battery, the smallest in the S25 lineup.
Another dealbreaker could be the lack of a telephoto lens, as the S25 Edge will have a dual-camera setup. It will boast a 200-megapixel primary and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens.
The phone will have 25W wired charging and also support wireless charging. Expected to go on sale in 256GB and 512GB variants, Samsung is likely to produce 3 million units of the S25 Edge this year.
