Samsung is barely a week away from its annual Samsung Unpacked event on July 10, where it plans to launch new smartphones and other hardware. Meanwhile, the leaks continue to pour in about Samsung’s new set of foldable smartphones – Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Famous tipster Evan Blass, has leaked the detailed specifications of these smartphones along with other marketing material.

Besides making the foldable phones slimmer, these new phones will also be lighter and offer better battery life – at least that’s what the marketing materials state. Samsung has bumped up the battery capacity of both the phones while attempting to make them thinner. For protection, both new foldables will have IP48 rating. While this doesn’t cover long term hinge damage, it saves your phone from 1mm or higher solid objects. That means, you can carry both phones in your pants or backpack without worrying about any damage from the keys.

The screen Interpreter mode is one of the AI-driven features that will show the conversations on the inner and outer displays of both the fold phones. Samsung also adds support Google’s new Circle to Search feature. Samsung provides a USB Type-C 3.2 port on both the foldables for faster data transfer and charging support. Speaking of that, there’s no word about fast charging yet.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a foldable that appears book-style and will sport a slightly bigger display outside and relatively smaller display inside the fold. It is touted to be relatively thinner by 1.3mm when folded. Besides that, its lighter weight at 239 grams is set to impress many, although you can barely feel the difference in real world. For better protection, this phone will have an improved Armor Aluminum frame around its body.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Specifications:

Processor: Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC
RAM: 12GB
Storage: 256GB Storage
Primary Inner Screen: 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with 120Hz refresh rate
Secondary Outer Screen: 3.4-inch IPS panel
Primary Rear Camera: 50-megapixel with f/1.8 aperture
Secondary Rear Camera: 12-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture
Front Camera: 10-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture
Wireless Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3
Cellular: Dual SIM
Battery: 4000mAh

The new Z Flip 6 will be 0.2mm thinner than the Flip 5 when folded and will apparently weigh the same – 187 grams. The secondary display will sport an IPS screen instead of an OLED. Like the Z Fold 6, even this phone will have the IP48 rating protection against 1mm or greater solid objects. While the battery may look like marginally bigger than Flip 5, the 4000mAh battery in the Flip 6 promises that the video playback will last 3 hours more and 2 hours more on the LTE network data connections.

What’s really amazing is the new Vapour Chamber cooling mechanism used in the Z Flip 6, but very few details are mentioned in the marketing material. The latest colors leak show an Ice Blue variant of the Z Flip 6 and this time the entire phone will flaunt the colors with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection for the cover glass.

We expect both the phones to take the center stage at the Samsung Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris.
