Samsung is gearing up for the next iteration of Galaxy Unpacked, and it’s been a while since the last one. The South Korean giant will take the wraps off the now delayed S25 Edge, apart from the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. With both phones rumored to launch with One UI 8, it would be interesting to see both new hardware and software at the event. A new rumour has shared the details about the upcoming Z Fold 7, which will have some interesting upgrades.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Leak Hints at Several Upgrades

According to the latest leak by tipster Anthony, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. This is the same chipset used in the Galaxy S25 series and will power the upcoming foldable.

Furthermore, the rumour claims that the Z Fold 7 will opt for an under-display selfie camera and a reinforced display with “new layers”. In addition, the foldable will have improved water and dust resistance and noticeably reduced crease.

On the inside, you get an 8-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch outer display. This is a major upgrade over the 7.6-inch and 6.3-inch screens on the Z Fold 6.

The phone is surprisingly thin at just 4.5mm when unfolded, making it even slimmer than the upcoming S25 Edge, which is 5.84mm thick. But Samsung is sacrificing one key feature of the Z Fold: the S-Pen.

Due to its slim nature, the Z Fold 7 will reportedly not have the digizer required for the S-Pen to work, although the company is also working on a new S-Pen that will work with the foldable.

Moreover, you can expect a bigger vapour cooling chamber, better speakers, and improved haptics. And if you have been annoyed by the terrible quality of the under-display camera, well, Samsung is upgrading it.

Fold 7 to Use 200-Megapixel Primary Camera

And just like the S25 Ultra, you can expect a 200-megapixel primary camera, likely to be the same HP2 sensor. You can also expect a 12-megapixel ultrawide and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens. There will also be a 4-megapixel under-display selfie camera and a 10-megapixel one on the front cover screen.

The battery is likely to stay the same at 4,400 mAh, but the new 8 Elite could result in major efficiency gains. Given that Samsung has been caught lacking in the foldable segment compared to recent offerings like the Oppo Find N5. It’s certainly hoping to get back in the game with the Z Fold 7.

The company is likely to unveil the Z Flip 6 and the S25 Edge at the Unpacked event. Furthermore, it will launch the Z Fold 7 FE with cut-down specifications resembling that of the Z Fold 6 at a cheaper price.
