Sell Lemons follows the familiar tycoon formula where you collect cash, expand your base, and unlock progressively bigger multipliers. The early game can feel slow, but once you understand the core systems, particularly rebirths and evolutions, progression speeds up dramatically. Here is a Sell Lemons beginner's guide that tells you everything you need to know to get started the right way.

Getting Started

When you first spawn in, your goal is simple. Collect money from your starting pressure plates and use it to expand your base by buying new buttons and structures. The question mark icon in the bottom right corner is your best friend here. Click it whenever you feel lost, and it highlights exactly what to buy next. Yellow-highlighted purchases are income upgrades or multipliers, while red ones are usually decorative structures that do not directly affect your earnings.

Income Sources and Upgrades

As you progress you will unlock additional income sources scattered around your base. These generate passive income on top of your main pressure plates and can be upgraded individually to earn even more.

Two early purchases make managing these significantly easier. The Manage button, found under Powers for around 100 Investors, lets you upgrade every income source from a single menu instead of running around your base. Remote Buy lets you purchase every available upgrade from one spot rather than physically stepping on each button, and most experienced players consider it one of the best purchases in the entire game once you can afford it.

Stack Upgrade is also worth getting early since it increases how many purchases you can make per click, which speeds up every part of your progression from here on.

Rebirths and Investors

Rebirthing is unlocked once your base reaches a certain value, generally cited as somewhere around 1 trillion to 77 sextillion cash depending on how the game scales for your progress. Once unlocked, Joe the Alien appears and talking to him lets you rebirth.

Rebirthing resets your cash, income sources, and upgrades, but in return you receive Investors. Each Investor gives a permanent 1% cash bonus that stacks across your entire run. The key strategy here is not to rebirth the instant it becomes available. Progress as far as you reasonably can first, since the further you get before rebirthing, the more Investors you receive. Once you hit a wall where you can no longer afford anything new, that is your signal to rebirth.

Playing with friends also gives you a 2x friend bonus simply for having other players in your server, with the bonus reportedly increasing the more friends you have present. This costs nothing and should always be active if possible.

Evolutions

Once you accumulate enough Investors, generally in the hundreds of quadrillions, a void portal appears at your spawn. This unlocks Evolutions, which change the fruit you sell starting with lemon, then lime, passion fruit, orange fruit, and abyssal lime among others further along.

Each evolution multiplies your income speed by 42 times, and this stacks multiplicatively with each subsequent evolution. Your second evolution gives roughly 1,764 times the original speed, your third around 74,088 times, and so on. The catch is that evolving resets your entire tycoon and all your Investors back to zero.

Despite the reset, evolving is almost always worth it. You will naturally hit a point where progress completely stalls without it, and the income speed boost makes rebuilding significantly faster than your first run. As a general rule, if an evolution is available and shows 100% ready, take it immediately.

Mini Games and Extra Income

Scattered around the map are small mini games that offer bonus cash while you wait for your main income to build up. These include cheering competitions where clicking speed affects your reward, and a simple stock market game where you buy in and try to sell at a peak. Neither is essential but both are free extra cash with no downside.

Harvesting fruit from trees, including ones on other players' bases, is also a reliable early to mid game income boost, particularly when you spot a glowing tree which gives a noticeably larger payout.

Ascension

The final stage of progression is Ascension, unlocked after building a staircase that becomes accessible once you have progressed far enough through rebirths and evolutions. Ascending resets everything, including all Investors and evolutions, but grants a permanent 7.77 times cash multiplier along with a Halo cosmetic and a forever purchase that never gets removed by future resets.

Your first ascension will be the hardest simply because it is the first full reset of everything you have built. Every ascension after that becomes progressively easier since the permanent multipliers compound over time. For more guides check out our Sell Lemons wiki.
