If you just started playing Slime RNG on Roblox, things might feel a little confusing at first. Don't worry, the game is simpler than it looks once you get the hang of it. This Slime RNG beginner's guide will walk you through everything you need to know as a new player, from your very first roll to pushing through the early zones.
What Is Slime RNG?
Slime RNG throws you into a world where you roll for Slimes and watch them fight waves of enemies. Every time your Slimes win a battle, you get Coins. Those Coins unlock new zones, upgrades, and better chances at rolling stronger Slimes. It's a simple loop that gets surprisingly addictive once you understand how everything connects.
The game sits somewhere between an idle clicker and a fighting game. You're not controlling the battles directly, but your job is to roll the right Slimes, equip them, and make smart choices about where to spend your Coins.
Your First Five Minutes
The moment you load in, do these three things before anything else:
- Like the game and join the Stouts Studio Roblox group from the in-game social menu. This gives you +2 Permanent Luck for free. Luck affects the rarity of Slime you get from rolls, so grab this right away.
- Redeem any active codes by going to Shop > Codes. These usually give you free Luck boosts or Coins to kick things off.
- Start rolling Slimes using the Roll button at the bottom of your screen. Your early Slimes won't be amazing, but they'll do the job while you save up Coins.
Understanding Slime Rarities
Not all Slimes are equal. There are five rarity tiers in Slime RNG:
- Base Slimes are what you'll roll most often when you start. They do the lowest damage but they're enough to get through Meadow and early Forest.
- Big Slimes are one step up. You'll start seeing these once you have a bit of Luck. They're noticeably stronger than Base but still pretty common.
- Huge Slimes hit hard enough to carry you through Cavern and Tundra without much trouble.
- Shiny Slimes are rare pulls that deal serious damage. If you get one early, hold onto it and feed it fruits to make it even stronger.
- Inverted Slimes are the hardest to roll and the strongest in the game. These are your endgame Slimes. Don't expect to see one in your first few hours of playing.
The rarer the Slime, the more damage it deals. You can also feed your Slimes fruits to upgrade their stats. You get fruits from the skill tree, or by defeating enemies.
Zone Progression Path
You start in Meadow, and that's fine, it's free, and the enemies are easy. But you want to keep moving.
Here's a simple order to follow:

The Most Important Upgrades to Get First
Open the Upgrade Menu at the bottom of your screen. This is where you spend your Coins on permanent improvements.
Here's what to prioritize:
- Auto Roll – Get this as early as possible. It automatically rolls Slimes for you even when you're AFK. This is a game-changer for farming. Don't forget to turn it on, though, after you upgrade it.
- Luck upgrades – More Luck means better Slimes from your rolls. Always worth investing in early.
- Money upgrades – Helps you earn Coins faster so you can push to new zones sooner.
- Teleporter (costs 1,000,000 Coins) – A late early-game upgrade, but it lets you fast travel between zones instantly.
Claim Your Rewards from Slime Index
As you keep rolling, your Slime Index will continue to grow. Each rarity has its own progress track, and for every 10 new slime types you collect, you’ll unlock different rewards. Make sure to claim them whenever they’re available since they’re completely free.
Mistakes New Players Make
These are easy to fall into, so watch out:
- Spending Robux on Luck Potions before getting your free +2 Luck. Always claim the free stuff first.
- Pushing past Cavern without a decent Slime. If your Slimes can't kill enemies fast enough, you'll earn almost nothing. Make sure you have at least an Uncommon-rarity Slime before moving on.
- Doing Rebirth too early. Don't Rebirth before you reach the Void zone, as early Rebirth wastes the Goop upgrade branch, which is important later.
- Deleting duplicate Slimes. Some duplicates can be combined into special crafted Slimes like Crafty, Thorn, and Geode. Check the Slime Index before you delete anything.
Feeding Your Slimes
Fruits drop from enemies and the skill tree. You can feed these to your Slimes to boost their stats permanently. A lot of new players ignore this system completely, which is a huge mistake.
Each fruit type boosts a different stat. Feeding the same fruit multiple times to one Slime stacks the effect. If you have a Huge or Shiny Slime, prioritize feeding it first. Making your best Slimes even stronger gets you better returns than spreading fruits across a bunch of weak ones.
Check your backpack regularly to see what fruits you have. Don't let them pile up, use them.
How to Get Stronger Slimes Faster
Here are a few things that can help you get stronger Slimes faster:
- Use Luck Boosts in busy servers. If a friend is online, join their server and use a Luck Boost together. It's the cheapest way to shift your odds early on.
- Use the Equip Best button in your backpack. It auto-equips your strongest Slimes so you're always fighting with your best team.
Leaving the Game on Idle
One of the best things about Slime RNG is that you earn Coins even when you're not playing, as long as the game stays open. Once you have Auto Roll unlocked and your Slimes equipped, just leave the game running in the background. Come back after an hour or two and you'll have a solid chunk of Coins waiting for you.
