The upgrade tree in Slime RNG is where most of your progression actually happens, and spending coins in the wrong order can slow you down significantly. There are three Slime RNG Upgrade trees covering general gameplay, loot, and player abilities, and knowing what to focus on first makes a real difference to how quickly you move through the worlds.

Which Upgrades to Prioritize in Slime RNG
The core idea behind progression in Slime RNG is building a stable coin income first, then improving your luck to get better slimes, and then unlocking Goop so you can start Rebirths. Trying to rush Goop before your luck and income are solid is one of the most common mistakes players make because Rebirthing resets your progress, and if your slimes are not strong enough you will struggle to get back to where you were.
Start by pumping everything into Coin Income from the Loot Tree. This is the foundation of everything else. More coins means faster access to upgrades and new zones, and the gap between early and mid-game coin costs is significant. Keep investing here until the cost starts to outpace what you are actually earning.
Once Coin Income gets too expensive to keep upgrading efficiently, shift your focus to Luck. Better luck means better slimes, and better slimes hit harder and generate more coins passively. Do not skip this step in favour of Goop. There is no point unlocking Rebirths if your slimes cannot carry you back through the worlds after resetting.
When both Coin Income and Luck start getting too pricey, that is the right time to unlock Goop and begin Rebirths. Each Rebirth gives you a significant luck multiplier which makes everything after it noticeably faster.
After you have that core loop running, spend leftover coins on More Enemies and Slime Slots since both of these increase your kills per minute which feeds directly back into your coin income. Roll Speed and Diamond Rolls are also solid picks for getting rarer slimes more consistently.
The recommended priority order is:
- Coin Income > Luck > Goop > More Enemies > Slime Slots > Roll Speed > Diamond Rolls > Everything Else
One thing worth skipping entirely in the early game is the Player Tree. The Teleporter is the only exception since it saves time navigating between zones, but even that can wait until your core income and luck are in a good place. For more guides check our Slime RNG Wiki.
