Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Benchmarks Reveal Huge Performance Gains

A new leak courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has given us a glimpse of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 benchmarks. Codenamed SM8850, it will pack the second generation of the custom Oryon cores.

In Geekbench 6, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will have a score of more than 4,000 in single-core and 11,000 in multi-core tests. This is a noticeable improvement over the 8 Elite, which scores 3,100 and 9,800 in single core and multi core, respectively.

It translates to a 20-30% boost in single-core and a 10-15% boost in multi-core. It will also reportedly outperform Apple’s A19 Pro, which will score 4,000 in single-core and 10,000 in multi-core tests.

Adreno 840 and More GPU Cache

DCS also claims the Adreno 840 GPU will have “very high” performance numbers. This is likely due to the increase in GPU cache to 16MB, resulting in 30% better performance.

Previous leaks have revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will have an AnTuTu score of around 3.8 million. This is a huge 41% improvement over the 8 Elite, which scores 2.69 million in AnTuTu.

The upcoming chip will use TSMC’s 3nm process with 2 Prime cores and 6 performance cores. It will support LPDDR5X and LPDDR6 RAM as well.

Some reports suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will have a base frequency of 4.4GHz, a slight bump over the 4.32GHz in the 8 Elite. Furthermore, the maximum clock speed could touch 5GHz, making it insanely fast.

Qualcomm will unveil the 8 Elite 2 at the Snapdragon Summit, which is scheduled for September 23 to September 25, 2025. The upcoming chipset will compete with MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Plus and Apple’s A19 Pro, which will debut in the same month.
