While other battle royale games stick you on one big map, Splitgate 2 connects five totally different worlds through massive portals. This is called Split Worlds. From the trailer that you can watch below, you’ll see that you can literally jump from a burning volcano to frozen mountains in seconds.

Each match puts 60 players into 15 teams of four. You will drop into one of the four starting areas, then fight your way to the center, called Sanctum. This fifth area only opens up if you survive long enough, and it’s actually packed with the best loot in the game.

The Five Battle Areas You Need to Know in Splitgate 2

Here are all five biomes of Split Worlds:

  • Drought – Desert with long open spaces, great for sniping but bad for hiding.
  • Glacier – You will find slippery ice everywhere, so moving gets tricky here.
  • Inferno – Puts you near lava with tight corners. Perfect for shotgun fights.
  • Fracture – Floats you around asteroids where gravity acts weird.
  • Sanctum – The center zone that has old ruins and the strongest guns.

Portal Combat Tips

Use portals to run away from fights you can’t win. When enemies rush you, put a portal behind them and shoot them in the back. Most people forget to watch where portals lead, so you get easy kills. Connect multiple portals for crazy movement plays. Put one portal up high, another on the ground, and you can shoot from above while moving around. Just remember, enemies can use your portals too.

In this mode, there is also a thing called Portal EMP Events. It shuts down all portals for a while. When this happens, you are stuck wherever you are. Use this time to heal up or move without worrying about surprise attacks through portals.

Another thing is the Drop Frenzy Events, where the game drops tons of supply boxes everywhere. These have better guns and armor, but every team nearby will come running. Only grab them if you can fight off multiple squads. Are you ready to land with your whole team together in Splitgate 2? You’ll need your teammates to handle portal sneak attacks and moving between different worlds!
