- Spotify has rolled out a new feature to create cover art maker for playlists.
- Both free and premium users can create custom art covers for their playlists.
- You can use text, colors, images, graphics, elements, and more to create Spotify cover art.
Spotify announced the custom cover art maker for playlists a few hours ago. The playlist cover art maker is in beta and available only on Spotify’s Android and iOS. There is no word on the web and desktop app for now but hopefully, they will roll it in the future. Spotify’s custom playlist cover art maker is available to both free and premium users.
How to Create Cover Art on Spotify
I will be using my iPhone for the steps but they are the same for Android users too.
- Open Spotify. Go to your playlist from Your Library tab.
- Tap on three-dot menu icon and select Create cover art.
- Tap on Create cover art again. Select Change cover image if the playlist already has a cover art.
- You can add text (control font, style, color, effects, size).
- You can add an image from Gallery or Camera directly and add effects or mask it.
- You can change the background color.
- Finally, there are plenty of stickers to play around with.

You will notice that the feature is currently in Beta. Also, this is not an AI-powered feature so you cannot generate images to use in art covers on playlists and edit them. Nope. This is a plain old but functional editor to add and format text, images, backgrounds, fonts, stickers, etc.
And that’s it, folks.
