How To Use Spotify Remote Download Feature

Spotify has revealed a new feature that lets you download songs remotely on your connected devices. So you can now download songs to any smart device connected to your Spotify account. These include smartwatches, tablets, and phone – both Android and Apple.

It means you can now download songs for offline playback on your WearOS watch directly from your phone. It also works vice versa, so you can save songs on your phone from your Android watch.

This way, you don’t need to deal with the hassle of using the Spotify app on your smartwatch’s small screen. Do note that you need a Spotify Premium subscription to use the remote download feature.

Here’s how you can remotely download songs on Spotify to your Android smartwatch

1. Open Spotify on your smartphone.
2. Select the Playlist you wish to download and tap on the three-dot menu.
3. Press the Download to other devices option.
4. Select your Galaxy Watch and tap on the download icon next to it.

Once the download begins, you can check the progress in the Manage Downloads section. You can also check the progress of the download directly on your Galaxy, Pixel Watch, or any other WearOS watch.

How To Download Songs From Your Apple Watch

Just like Android smartwatches running on WearOS, you can also use the feature to download songs on your Apple Watch. And the best part? You can even use it when you’re not present near the device.

Here’s how you can download songs remotely on your Apple Watch:

1. Open the Spotify app on your iPhone.
2. Find the playlist you wish to download and tap on the three-dot menu.
3. Tap on Download to other devices and choose Apple Watch from the list.
4. The song will start downloading on your Apple Watch.

This way, you can download songs from your iPhone or iPad to your Apple Watch on the move. Furthermore, you can also check the devices that have downloads active.

By pressing the “Manage downloads” button, you can check the list of devices where downloads are active. Although you will still be restricted by the 5-device download limit placed by Spotify.
