Every hour during the fishing update, the Aqua event goes live for 15 minutes. When it starts, the lava on the map turns into aqua lava, and you automatically get a fishing rod to use during that window. That's your signal to stop whatever you're doing and get to fishing. The event doesn't last long, so you need to move fast and make the most of those 15 minutes.

How to Fish in Survive Lava for Brainrots Aqua Event
There are 25+ different things to catch during the Aqua event. Some catches will just be items or coins, but Brainrots are the big ones since you can bring them back to your base.
Once the Aqua event is active, here's the basic flow:
- Grab the fishing rod that gets given to you when the event starts.
- Head to the aqua lava POI.
- Click and hold to cast your rod out.
- When you get a bite, click to fill up the progress bar and reel it in.
- If you catch a Brainrot, bring it back to your base safely.
How to Get More Luck While Fishing in Aqua Event
Luck affects what you can catch, so you want as much of it as possible. There are two ways to boost it during the Aqua event.
- Whirlpools randomly spawn in the aqua lava. Fishing inside one gives you a luck bonus, so always aim for those spots if you can.
- Cast quality also matters. The better your cast, the more luck you earn.
How to Get Aqua Mutation
The only way to get the Aqua mutation is through the Aqua event itself, so you have to actually participate in the fishing to have a shot at it.
Alongside the mutation, there's another reward tied to this update. If you complete at least 80% of the new index, you'll unlock the Aqua Base. It's a longer grind, but the Aqua Base Skin is a cool unlock that's worth going for if you're playing regularly.
Make sure you're online and ready when the hour rolls over. Fifteen minutes can actually go by fast, and you don't want to miss the window.
