- Here’s everything you need to know about the app
Remember NotebookLM? The popular AI tool that can turn any research material into a podcast? Well, it’s now coming to Android and iOS. Previously, mobile users could only access NotebookLM via the website. However, with a native app, this is soon set to change. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

NotebookLM App Set To Launch At Google I/O 2025
Based on the screenshots shared by Google, the app has four different tabs. On the main page, you can see Recent, Shared, Title, and Downloaded tabs. Furthermore, it will show a list of your recent notebooks with a Play button.

It will show you the Audio Overview, and there’s also background playback, unlike the free version of YouTube. By opening the full-screen player, you can see a waveform depicting the rest of the podcast.
Once you open a notebook, it will show a bar at the bottom for Sources, Chat, and Studio, similar to the mobile website. The design of the app seems inspired by the PWA version of the website.
You can also join in on the podcast and ask follow-up questions to the AI host. You can start a new podcast by pressing the Create New button at the bottom. It lets you add PDFs, website links, YouTube videos, and text.
NotebookLM will also show up in the share sheet, so you can quickly add any file without even opening the app. The beta version of the app will be released in the next few weeks for both iOS and Android.
The iOS Version will go live on May 20, the first day of Google I/O, while there is no clarity on the Android release date. You can preregister for the Android version and the iOS version of the app.
