Every Upcoming DC Movie
1. Superman – July 11, 2025 (DCU)
The official launch of the DCU begins with Superman, directed by and written by James Gunn. Rather than revisiting Clark Kent’s origin, the film introduces him already working at the Daily Planet. Superman is played by David Corenswet, Lois Lane by Rachel Brosnahan, and Lex Luthor by Nicholas Hoult.
The supporting cast features Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), and Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho). The recent trailers and teasers show that the movie will feature various threats, ranging from a Kaiju to Ultraman.
2. Supergirl – June 26, 2026 (DCU)
Milly Alcock plays Kara Zor-El in this adaptation of Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s comic. The story revolves around a hardened Supergirl, shaped by a tragic life on a ruined Kryptonian colony.
Craig Gillespie directs and Ana Nogueira scripts the movie, and Lobo is portrayed by Jason Momoa in a reboot that diverges from the comic storyline. Kara is expected to debut in Superman before she steals the spotlight here.
3. Clayface – September 11, 2026 (DCU)

Directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan, Clayface is an R-rated horror film. It takes you into the grotesque transformation of Matt Hagen by portraying psychological and body horror themes.
Though once rumored to connect with The Batman, James Gunn confirmed Clayface is part of the DCU. Alan Tudyk, the voice actor for the character in Creature Commandos, may reprise his role. The latest news confirms that Tom Rhys Harries has been cast as Clayface in the movie.
4. The Batman Part II – October 1st, 2027 (Elseworlds)

Matt Reeves returns to work with Robert Pattinson again on a sequel to The Batman. A part of the Elseworlds label, the film maintains its dark, noir-style Gotham story.
While filming is expected to begin in 2025, character speculations include Clayface, Scarecrow, and Professor Pyg. Colin Farrell’s Penguin, whose HBO Max series also takes place within this universe, returns as well.
5. Dynamic Duo – June 30, 2028 (Continuity: TBA)
This animated movie explores the formative years of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. Written by Matthew Aldrich (known for Coco) and directed by Arthur Mintz, the project stands out for its distinctive animation style, with a creative mix of puppetry, CGI, stop-motion, and even live-action elements.
Even though the movie is aimed at a younger audience, it still manages to capture the emotional depth of Nightwing and Red Hood’s stories..
6. The Brave and the Bold – TBA (DCU)
Based on Grant Morrison’s acclaimed comic run, the movie brings Bruce Wayne together with his son, Damian, who takes up the mantle of Robin. Initially planned with director Andy Muschietti (The Flash), the film is currently being redeveloped with James Gunn at the helm of development.
It’s a new take on Batman, regardless of the Pattinson one, and also debunks several questions and confirms that Matt Reeves’s Batman won’t be part of the DCU.
7. Teen Titans – TBA (DCU)

The movie is directed by Ana Nogueira, who is set to bring together a new generation of heroes like Damian Wayne and possibly Blue Beetle (Xolo Maridueña).
Teen Titans is set in the DCU timeline and promises a large ensemble format with the first on-screen adaptation of the team since their TV series was canceled.
8. Wonder Woman – TBA (DCU)

A new Wonder Woman film is currently in early development with a new script and a new lead actress to be introduced. This will not be one of the scrapped Patty Jenkins’ third films and is unrelated to the Paradise Lost series. James Gunn recently confirmed this in an interview in June 2025.
9. Swamp Thing – TBA (DCU)

James Mangold helms this horror-themed origin story based on Alan Moore’s legendary run. While Mangold is otherwise engaged at present with a Bob Dylan biopic, the movie remains high on the priority list for DC Studios and will be linked to the larger DCU despite having a standalone tone.
James Mangold on his take on Swamp Thing,
“While I’m sure DC views Swamp Thing as a franchise, I would be viewing it as a very simple, clean, Gothic horror movie about this man/monster… Just doing my own thing with this, just a standalone.” – In an interview with Variety.
10. The Authority – TBA (DCU)

Part of the Gods and Monsters chapter titles, The Authority features a team of morally ambiguous anti-heroes. Casting and a creative team have not yet been officially announced, but Maria De Faria’s Engineer will make her DCU debut in Superman, connecting this film to the main DCU.
11. Bane & Deathstroke – TBA (Continuity: TBA)
This villain-focused film, written by Matthew Orton (Captain America: Brave New World), will explore two of Batman’s most brutal foes. While no casting has been officially announced, the film offers a darker take on the criminal underworld.
12. Sgt. Rock – Canceled (DCU)

Originally planned as a retro-styled WWII movie, possibly starring Daniel Craig and directed by Luca Guadagnino, Sgt. Rock has been shelved. The character first appeared in Creature Commandos, but further plans have stalled.
James Gunn’s recent comment on the cancellation,
“We just killed a project. Everybody wanted to make the movie. It was greenlit, ready to go. The screenplay wasn’t ready. And I couldn’t do a movie where the screenplay’s not good.” – In an interview with RollingStone.
13. Constantine 2 – TBA (Elseworlds)

Keanu Reeves returns for this sequel to the 2005 cult classic. Written by Akiva Goldsman, the project is confirmed, but development has been halted due to ongoing studio complications. It will remain outside the DCU under the Elseworlds banner.

In a recent interaction with a fan on the Threads, James Gunn clarified his comment on Lanterns being grounded.
“That’s not what I mean by grounded. I meant grounded in terms of fully rounded characters making realistic choices. Many off-world science fiction stories are grounded.”
5. Paradise Lost – In Development (DCU)

Set decades prior to Diana’s birth, Paradise Lost will feature the political battle for dominance and the ancient mythology of Themyscira. Described as a “Game of Thrones”-style drama by James Gunn, the TV series will explore the dark, complicated past behind the Amazonian community.
