  • YouTube Shorts will soon get Veo 3 integration for AI-powered video creation.
  • It will allow creators to generate high-quality videos with audio using AI.
  • The rollout is expected later this summer.

Many platforms are adding AI tools now for a better user experience and creative possibilities. For example, Instagram is integrating Meta AI, or Spotify is using AI for playlist recommendations. Similarly, YouTube is stepping up its game by planning to bring Google’s latest AI video model, Veo 3, into YouTube Shorts. Here’s everything you need to know.

YouTube CEO Neal Mohan revealed this upcoming integration during his appearance at the Cannes Lions Festival. He confirmed that Google’s latest video generation model, Veo 3, will be coming to YouTube Shorts later this summer.

He highlighted how this move will unlock new creative possibilities for both new and existing creators, allowing them to experiment with formats, blend genres, and take their content to the next level using AI.

Veo 3 Integration in YouTube Shorts

Veo 3 is Google’s latest and most advanced AI video generation model developed by Google DeepMind. It allows users to create video clips with high-quality visuals and now even includes realistic AI-generated audio, like footsteps, rain sounds, and ambient effects. This model was introduced at Google I/O 2025.

YouTube wants to make it easier for creators to bring their ideas to life. Whether it’s a cinematic video concept, a creative short, or just experimenting with new styles. YouTube is making sure creators can easily use it where they create the most content.

How Creators Can Use It

This update will be very useful for creators as they will be able to generate entire short-form videos using just a prompt. No need for a camera or editing software. Creators will be able to:

  • Generate video backgrounds or full video clips by simply typing an idea.
  • Blend genres and flip formats, as Veo 3 supports cinematic styles, slow motion, aerial shots, and more.
  • Add realistic AI audio to their content, from environmental sounds to ambient effects.
  • Use it directly inside Shorts.

It will be beneficial for creators who want to create small stories but don’t have the resources for filming, editing, or post-production. They can just type out their idea and let AI turn it into something visually powerful.

That’s all for now, folks! YouTube Shorts will be getting Veo 3 integration later this summer, so it’s going to be exciting to see how creators start using it. Stay tuned for more updates!
