Useful as it is, there can be instances when fast charging stops working on your Samsung phone. If you’re irked by a similar issue, then this guide has a few troubleshooting tips that might help. So, let’s check it out.

1. Enable Fast Charging

The first thing you need to do is ensure that the Super Fast Charging option is enabled on your Samsung Galaxy phone. Here’s how to check.

2. Unplug and Replug the Charger to Check if Fast Charging Is Working

Is your Samsung phone running One UI 5 (Android 13) or higher? If so, it’s important to note that your Samsung Galaxy phone will only display Fast charging or Super fast charging status for a few seconds. After that, it will only show the battery percentage and estimated time remaining for a full charge.

This can give the wrong impression that fast charging or super fast charging is not working on your Samsung Galaxy phone. To avoid any confusion, simply unplug the charger and then plug it back in. Once you do, your phone should display the super fast charging status for the first few seconds.

3. Use the Right Adapter and Cable

For fast charging to work, you need to use the right adapter and cable. Different phones support different power inputs, so using the correct adapter compatible with your phone and supporting features like Adaptive Fast Charging or Super Fast Charging is crucial. Besides, you’ll need to ensure the USB cable you’re using isn’t damaged.

Additionally, make sure both the adapter and the cable are firmly connected. While you’re at it, consider trying a different power outlet if possible.

Lastly, if you tend to use apps or play games while charging, your Samsung phone may not charge as fast. Hence, it’s best to avoid using your phone to achieve faster-charging speeds.

4. Check Battery Health

As you charge and discharge your phone, its battery loses capacity and degrades over time. If the battery on your Samsung device is old, it may not charge as fast as it used to.

You can check your battery’s health via the Samsung Members app. The app comes pre-installed on most Samsung Galaxy devices.

1. Launch the Settings app, navigate to Device care, and select Diagnostics.

6. Remove Moisture From the Charging Port

The presence of moisture in your Samsung Galaxy phone’s charging port can also cause such problems. In that case, your Samsung phone may also show the moisture detected warning.

To fix this, use a soft, lint-free cloth to carefully wipe the outer area of the USB-C port. If you have a can of compressed air, gently blow into the port to help remove any remaining water droplets. After that, check if the issue persists.

7. Try Safe Mode

To boot your Samsung phone into Safe Mode, follow the steps below.

1. Press down and hold the power button until you see the power off icon.
