After the action-packed part 1, Netflix has just announced the second part/cour 2 of Sakamoto Days. It brings our former legendary assassin, Taro Sakamoto, back into action. Fans can’t help but get excited about it since this one is going to be even more interesting than the first part. So, what to expect from Season 1 Part 2 of Sakamoto Days?

Sakamoto Days Part 2 Trailer Breakdown
Netflix has just dropped a brand-new trailer for Sakamoto Days Part 2, and it’s crystal clear that the story is going to get intense from here onwards. The stakes are real, the tone is darker, and the action? It’s going to be turned up to eleven. If you thought the first cour was insane, what’s coming next is going to blow the roof off.
The trailer hints at extensive screen time for key members of The Order: Nagumo, Shishiba, Osaragi, and Takamura. All of them possess a unique, deadly fighting style, and their presence ensures the second cour will be packed with jaw-dropping fights.

But it’s not only about the fight scenes. The animation seems to have improved. While the first cour was decent, it was also widely criticized for having uneven animation. Fans are hoping that TMS Entertainment will deliver a better adaptation this time around, especially with more complex battles and new characters adding more demands on the animation.
The trailer also reveals the new theme opening, “Method” by Kroi. According to the band, the track is aimed at showcasing the balance between peace in day-to-day life and brutal conflict, a perfect example of Sakamoto Days as an anime. That balance between the light-hearted and the sudden, violent outbursts is what Taro Sakamoto’s life is all about.
What to Expect from Sakamoto Days Part 2
Part 2 goes into Sakamoto’s inner conflict, the one between his current peaceful life and his violent assassin past he can’t run from. One sentence from the trailer declares his resolve, as he says that he’ll “protect what matters with his own hands.” It gets the emotional tone just right for what’s ahead.
This time around, though, the spotlight is on The Order, a ruthless but elite team of assassins working from the shadows till now. But they’re in the spotlight, and they’re not playing around.

Part 2 will include two of Yuto Suzuki’s most beloved story arcs: the Death Row Prisoners Arc and the start of the JCC Transfer Exams Arc. Both are fan favorites for a reason. Both contain more focused strategic battles, character development, and plenty of emotional heft. And yes, there’ll be plenty of intense close combat scenes and near-death encounters to keep you on your toes.
Manga fans are already aware of the high-stakes game being played here, particularly now that Gaku, a deadly enforcer and Slur’s mysterious associate, has been introduced. Gaku’s volatile personality and savage methods raise the heat as soon as he appears. He’s likely one of the most intense and intriguing threats Sakamoto has faced up to this point
New Characters and Opening Revealed
Voice acting remains one of anime’s strongest points, with Tomokazu Sugita returning as Sakamoto and Nobunaga Shimazaki returning as Shin. They will be joined by some newcomers, such as Chiaki Kobayashi, Koki Uchiyama, and Yuko Kaida, who will be playing the new antagonist challenging Sakamoto in this part.
The anime will first receive a special advance screening with voice cast appearances on June 15, 2025, at Toho Cinemas Shinjuku, in which episodes 12 and 13 (beginning episodes of Part 2) will be shown.

While Part 1 had us settling into the quirky, action-filled life of a former assassin attempting to lead a regular life, this second cour promises to be all-out war. With violent battles with The Order, intensely emotional moments, and near-death struggles at the JCC, Sakamoto Days Part 2 is raising the stakes.
The anime is set to return on July 14, 2025, on Netflix as well as Crunchyroll. However, if you can’t wait till July, you can also continue its story in manga from chapter 38, as the first cour covers chapters from 1 to 37.
