Samsung Galaxy phone owners often face the dilemma of choosing between an Apple iPad or Android tablet. Undoubtedly, a Galaxy Tab should be your top choice for pairing with your Galaxy phone. That’s clearly because Samsung’s growing ecosystem features ensures that your phone complements Galaxy Tab and vice versa. Here are all the benefits of using Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets together.
Table of Contents
1. Answer Calls and Texts Directly From Galaxy Tab
Imagine this: you are charging your phone on the other side of the room and are using your tablet. When you get a call, instead of reaching out to the phone, you can answer the call directly from your Galaxy Tab. Not only that, you can also make calls, check call history, and send or receive messages from your tablet itself. Connect your Galaxy phone and tablet with the same Samsung account, and ensure the Call and text on other devices option is enabled in Settings > Connected devices. Also, make sure both devices are closed.

The LTE version Galaxy Tablets have their own SIM card. Even those can sync calls and messages from your phone.
2. Get All Your Phone Notifications on Your Tablet
When your phone and tablet are nearby and connected with Samsung Flow, you can get all your phone notifications on your tablet. Whether it’s a message from your Instagram friend or payment reminders, you can stay updated without checking your phone constantly. However, you can only check the notifications but cannot open them.
Since it’s not enabled by default, open the Samsung Flow app on your phone and tablet. Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices. Then, connect your phone to the tablet. After that, whenever you are nearby and turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices, you can get the phone’s notifications on your tablet instantly.
3. Instantly Copy and Paste Text and Files Between Devices
Want to add an image from your phone to your notes that you are working on the tablet? With the Samsung phone and tab combo, you can copy that image on your phone and paste it on your tablet instantly. No need to go through the lengthy file transfer process using Quick Share or Bluetooth. Not only images, but you can also copy text or any other files like docs or PDFs on one device and paste them on the other. Remember, that bigger files might take time to transfer depending on file size.

This feature is enabled by default, but just make sure that both devices are logged in with the same Samsung account and are nearby with Bluetooth turned on.
4. Continue Web Browsing Seamlessly Between Phone and Tablet
Saw an amazing pair of shoes on the tablet and want to purchase it immediately through your phone? With Samsung’s “Continue apps on other devices feature”, you can easily do that. When any webpage is open on one device, just open the recent apps menu on the other to get the option at the top. Clicking that will open the webpage on the other device in an instance.

Though you can install Samsung Internet on other Android tablets and phones, this Continue Web browsing feature is not available on them.
5. Automatically Connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Devices You’ve Already Used
Your Galaxy Tab can automatically connect to Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices your phone has already connected to. This is super handy when switching between devices. No more entering Wi-Fi passwords or pairing Bluetooth devices multiple times. Log into both devices with the same Samsung account, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth sync are enabled in Settings > Samsung account > Samsung Cloud.
Some Bluetooth speakers and earphones do not support multiple-device connectivity. They can be connected to your phone or tablet, but not both simultaneously. However, with the Samsung ecosystem, you can solve this problem. Open Settings > Connected Devices and enable Music Share.
When your phone is already connected to the speaker, you can connect your tablet to your phone via Music Share. Now, when you play any song on your tablet, it will play on the speaker, even though it is not directly connected to your tablet.

7. Use Your Phone’s Camera for Video Calls on Your Tablet
Need to make a video call but want to use the better camera on your phone? Samsung allows you to use your phone’s camera to make video calls on your tablet. This is perfect for taking advantage of the tablet’s bigger display and your phone’s better cameras.

This feature is not enabled by default. Make sure both devices are logged in with the same Samsung account. Then, open Settings > Connected Devices and enable the Camera Sharing option. Finally, ensure both devices have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on and are nearby. When you join any video call, it will automatically use your phone camera.
8. Control Both Devices with a Single Keyboard and Mouse
If you are working on your tablet with a keyboard and mouse connected and have the Multi Control feature turned on, you can even move the mouse cursor to your phone screen as if it is a second display. You can also type with the keyboard on your phone. Beyond that, this feature allows you to drag any file or copy any text from one device to another. This Multi Control setup makes your work seamless when you need to use both your phone and tablet to get tasks done.
To enable it, open Settings > Connected Devices and enable the Multi Control option. Additionally, both devices must be logged in to the same Samsung account and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
9. Cast Your Phone Screen to Your Tablet
Want to check the photos or videos on your phone on a bigger display? Instead of transferring all the files, one easy way is to cast your phone screen to tablet via Samsung Flow app. It needs initial setup for the first time, but later you can cast your phone in just a few taps.
Open the Samsung Flow app that comes with your phone and tablet. Enable both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices. Then, connect your phone to the tablet. After that, tap on the Smart View icon at the top of the screen. You need to grant permission on your phone, and then instantly, you can check the phone’s screen on the tablet. It’s not just the screen casting; you can even control your phone from the tablet itself.

10. Samsung Notes – Sync and Cross Platform Features
Samsung Notes is only available on Samsung devices. If you already use Samsung Notes on your phone, you can also access the same notes from your Galaxy tablet. You can start taking notes on your phone and continue on your tablet without missing a beat. However, the ecosystem features go beyond syncing with Samsung Notes. When taking notes or drawing on the tablet, you can move the toolbar to your Samsung phone. This way, you can use the entire tablet screen for drawing or taking notes, while your phone acts as your toolbox to select brushes, colors, and various other tools.

11. Samsung Pass to Store Passwords Across Devices
Do you use Samsung Pass to store passwords, passkeys and payment methods? A Galaxy Tab is the perfect addition to your workflow. Samsung Pass is only available on Samsung phones. With any other tablet on the market, you need to change your password manager, otherwise logging into services across different devices can become a hassle.
12. Quickly Locate Your Lost Tablet Using Samsung’s Find App
In case you lose your tablet, you can use Samsung’s Find app on your phone to locate it, ring it, or even erase the data on the device. While this functionality can be replicated with any Android tablet using Google’s Find My app, Samsung’s version has a few advantages. For instance, it includes a device proximity feature to help you find it more easily, and it also works with your other Samsung devices, like watches, smart tags, etc.

Should You Get a Samsung Galaxy Tab?
Getting a Galaxy tablet over any other tablet enhances your experience and complements your phone well. Apart from the features mentioned above, there are many other features like Quick Share to transfer files between devices, Samsung Health to track your health metrics, and SmartThings to control your smart home. However, you can access these features on other Android tablets too. Features like SmartThings and Samsung Health can also be accessed through the iPad.
Samsung still needs more connectivity features and seamless integration to compete compared to Apple’s ecosystem for its devices. For example, there is no sync with modes like Do Not Disturb and Sleep between Samsung phones and tablets. Additionally, most of the features require a setup process or digging through the Settings.
