One of the key features in Samsung’s One UI 7 is Now Bar. From what you can already make out from the name, it shows you what’s going on currently in a bar on your lock screen, similar to Live Activities on iPhones. And among all other updates, you can also see live scores of your favorite sports on your Samsung lock screen.
This feature was released with the Galaxy S25 series. With the One UI 7 update rolling out to older phones, it’s now available on more devices. Using it, you can view live scores from cricket, football, basketball, or baseball from around the globe directly on the lock screen.
Enable Sports from Google On Samsung Lock Screen
To turn it on:
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap Lock screen and AOD.
- Choose Now Bar.
- Here, toggle on Sports from Google.

Next, we need to ensure that notifications from ongoing matches are visible everywhere including your lock screen, on the status bar, and at the top of the notification panel. Here’s how:
- Open Settings and search “sports.”
- Tap the Sports from Google option.
- Make sure the live notification is turned on for Sports from Google.

Choosing Which Sports and Teams to Get Updates For
- On the very same page, tap Sports from Google.
- Then tap Sports from Google settings.
- A new pop-up window will open with different tabs for each sport: Cricket, Football, Basketball, American Football, and Baseball.
- Choose your desired sport and follow the teams you want to get updates for.
- Once done, tap Finish.

Note: Make sure you’re following the exact team you want updates for. Just following the league doesn’t seem to work for now.
Enjoy Real-Time Scores on the Lock Screen
Now, whenever one of your followed sports teams starts playing, Now Bar will show live scores on the status bar, notification panel, and lock screen of your Samsung Galaxy device.
By default, the Now Bar on the lock screen appears as a small pill shape, with the playing teams on either side and their real-time score next to them. Tapping the Now Bar gives you a larger pill with an expanded view showing recent updates from the event.

You’ll also see the live score in the top left corner of your status bar, so you’re always updated while browsing your phone or using other apps.
It also shows up as a notification when you swipe down to open the notifications panel. You can tap the notification to go directly to the Google Sports page with real-time information about the match.
