- This feature is currently under development and is expected to be rolled out to beta users soon.

No week is complete without WhatsApp introducing another new feature. It recently introduced the ability to link your Instagram and other profiles within your WhatsApp account. This time it’s adding the ability to share songs from Spotify on WhatsApp. So if you love grooving to your favorite tunes, you can let the world know about it by sharing the updates on WhatsApp.Here’s how to do so.
WhatsApp Status Gets New Spotify Integration Similar to Instagram
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is finally getting the ability to share songs on Spotify. While you could technically still share songs previously, Spotify is now tightly integrated into the app just like Meta’s Instagram. Currently, if you share a song from Spotify to your WhatsApp status, it only appears as a link instead of an interactive card.

Thanks to this native sharing feature, those viewing your status can see the song’s name along with its cover art, artist name, and button to play it on Spotify. This way they can directly listen to the song on Spotify instead of manually having to search for it.
The implementation works more or less similar to the one on Instagram except for an aesthetic video background that you get on the latter in some songs. Another interesting thing is that you can also share this card as a message with a group or a personal chat if you don’t want to share it with your status.
Do note that, unlike Instagram, WhatsApp is end-to-end protected so only the recipients you share the status with will be able to listen to the songs. This means that neither WhatsApp nor any third party has access to the songs you share on your WhatsApp status.
Currently, this feature is in development and not available even for WhatsApp beta users. However, we expect it to roll out to beta testers and eventually to users of the stable version.
