- Must be subscribed to YouTube Music subscription or Family Plan.
Tired of spending hours curating the perfect playlist? YouTube Music’s new Ask Music AI tool might just be the answer.
Let AI Do the Heavy-Lifting
Creating playlists on the fly can be a headache. You are going on a road trip and want to create a playlist you can listen to on the highway. Maybe you are about to board a plane and want something soothing to help you fall asleep. Have friends visiting you over the weekend and you need something to chill out. It can be stressful because everyone is out there to judge you – even on your song choices!
9to5Google shared the first look at the feature:
YouTube Music wants to solve this problem with Ask Music – a rebrand of the AI radio that Google was experimenting with some time before. A new AI tool that will create playlists on the fly based on prompts. Say you are throwing a weekend party and want a playlist with some cool hip-hop music or maybe low-fi instrumental tracks. Ask Music is here to help. Aks Music could be powered by Gemini seeing the sparkle logo on the greeting page but nothing was said explicitly.
Did You Know – You can control YouTube Music playback on the desktop or laptop from your Android phone? Yup. Check it now.
YouTube Music’s Ask Music AI tool will also generate playlist descriptions so you know what the playlist contains and not just track names. Now you can have different playlists for different situations and be creative with how you generate them using prompt engineering.
Note that the service is only available in English right now and is being rolled out in a phase with only a few countries access to it.
