As someone who enjoyed Enzo’s journey in Mafia: The Old Country, I was happy to see Hangar 13 announce story DLC so soon after launch.

What makes Man of Honor particularly interesting is that it doesn’t simply tack on a side mission or two. Instead, it explores a previously unseen period of Enzo’s life while introducing one of the most recognizable names in Mafia history: Ennio Salieri.

For longtime Mafia fans, that’s a pretty big deal.

What Is The Man of Honor DLC?

Man of Honor is the first major story expansion for Mafia: The Old Country.

The DLC takes place during a previously unexplored period of Enzo Favara’s early days within the Torrisi crime family.

Following his initiation, Enzo has earned the trust of the Don and proven himself to be a dependable soldier. As a result, he’s assigned to work alongside Ennio Salieri, a respected man of honor who has recently been released from prison and is looking to reclaim what belongs to him.

The story is set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, where Enzo finds himself pulled deeper into the criminal underworld of Valle Dorata.

From what we’ve seen so far, the expansion looks like it will focus heavily on loyalty, revenge, power struggles, and the difficult choices that come with life in the Mafia.

A Familiar Name For Mafia Fans

The biggest surprise for me was the inclusion of Ennio Salieri.

Anyone who played the original Mafia will immediately recognize the surname.

While this version of Salieri exists in a different time period, it’s fascinating to see Hangar 13 expanding the family’s history and giving players a chance to experience one of the most important names in the franchise from a completely different perspective.

For longtime fans, that connection alone makes this DLC worth paying attention to.

What New Content Does Man of Honor Add?

The expansion isn’t limited to story missions.

New Story Content

  • Two brand-new story chapters
  • Enzo and Salieri partnership
  • New areas within Valle Dorata
  • Additional cutscenes and story moments

New Gameplay Content

  • New weapons
  • New vehicles
  • New Charms
  • New collectibles
  • Hidden locations to discover

This looks like a substantial content drop rather than a small side story.

Free Ride Mode Gets New Content Too

One feature I’m particularly happy to see is support for Free Ride mode.

Free Ride Additions:

  • New jobs
  • Extreme challenges
  • Missions involving Salieri
  • Additional collectibles
  • New areas to explore

Free Ride was already one of my favorite ways to experience the world outside the main campaign, so seeing it receive dedicated DLC content is a welcome surprise.

Do Deluxe Edition Owners Get The DLC?

No.

This is probably the most important thing players need to know.

The Mafia: The Old Country Deluxe Edition does not include Man of Honor.

The Deluxe Edition only contains:

  • Base Game
  • Padrino Pack
  • Gatto Nero Pack
  • Digital Artbook
  • Original Soundtrack

If you want to play Man of Honor, you’ll need to purchase it separately.

Who Do You Play As?

Just like the main game, you’ll continue playing as Enzo Favara.

The DLC explores a previously unseen chapter of his rise within the Mafia and sheds more light on his early years as a soldato.

Ennio Salieri serves as a major supporting character and acts as Enzo’s primary ally throughout the expansion.

Personally, I think sticking with Enzo was the right choice. His story still has plenty of room to grow, and expanding his relationship with Salieri feels like a natural next step.

Why I’m Excited For Man of Honor

The best Mafia stories have always been about people, not just crime.

From everything revealed so far, Man of Honor appears to understand that.

Instead of introducing a completely separate storyline, the expansion builds directly on Enzo’s journey and introduces a fascinating new dynamic through Salieri’s return.

Add in new weapons, vehicles, Free Ride content, and two additional story chapters, and this feels like exactly the kind of expansion I was hoping to see.

Until then, I’ll be counting down the days until I can return to Sicily and see what Enzo’s next chapter has in store.
