With the rising competition from the likes of Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok, Facebook’s popularity has degraded over time. However, it still plays a major role for millions out there. The company offers native apps on all platforms, including iPhone, Android, iPad, and the web. They aren’t perfect, though. Many have complained about Facebook not working on iPad. If you face the same, follow along to fix the issue.

1. Check the Network Connection

Before you tickle with Facebook on your iPad, make sure to check the internet connection on your tablet. The app can’t load your home feed when your iPad has Wi-Fi issues.

You can swipe down from the top-right corner to open the Control Center. Enable the Airplane mode and disable it after some time. If the issue persists, reset the network connection.

Reset Network Connection

1. Open Settings and scroll to General. Select Transfer or Reset iPad.

2. Tap Reset and select Reset Network Settings.

Now, head to the Wi-Fi menu and connect to a robust network.

2. Enable Background App Refresh

Do you often face issues with uploading videos and photos to Facebook? The issue arises when you disable the background app refresh permission on iPad.

1. Open Settings on your iPad and scroll to Facebook.

2. Enable the Background App Refresh toggle.

3. Sign Out and Sign Back In

Facebook may not work due to an account authentication error. You need to sign out from your account and log in with the latest account credentials.

1. Launch Facebook on iPad.

2. Tap the down arrow icon in the top-right corner. Select Log Out.

Sign back in using the Facebook account details.

4. Check Facebook Status

When one of the Facebook servers faces an outage, you run into issues with accessing the app on your iPad. You can confirm the issue by visiting Downdetector on your iPad. Search for Facebook and confirm the same with outage spikes and user comments.

You can confirm Facebook’s server-side issues from social media networks like Twitter too. In that case, none of the tricks will work to resolve the problems. You must wait for Facebook to tackle server-side outages and try again.

5. Remove Facebook From Screen Time

Did you limit Facebook with the Screen Time function on your iPad? You may place such restrictions to prevent your little ones from getting addicted to social media platforms. Here’s how you can remove Facebook from Screen Time on iPad.

1. Open Settings and scroll to Screen Time.

2. Select App Limits.

3. Tap on Facebook and select Time. Increase time limit for Facebook.

You can also swipe left on Facebook and hit Delete to remove the app from such restrictions.

6. Check Facebook Permissions

If you have issues with receiving the latest alerts from Facebook, enable the notifications permission for Facebook. Here’s what you need to do.

1. Open Settings and scroll to Facebook. Select Notifications.

2. Enable the notification permission from the following menu.

7. Update Facebook

Facebook regularly updates the iPad app to add new features and fix bugs. The company is quick to resolve such glaring issues quickly. You should head to the App Store and update Facebook to the latest version. Now, open Facebook and check if it’s working as expected.

8. Reinstall Facebook

Reinstalling Facebook should be the last resort to fix app problems on your iPad.

1. Long-tap on the Facebook app icon and select Remove App.

2. Tap Delete App.

3. Download the app from the App Store and log in with your account details.

9. Use Facebook Web

Do you still face issues with accessing Facebook on iPad? One of the recent updates may have messed up app functions on your tablet. You can launch Safari and visit the Facebook web version to check the latest updates.

1. Visit Facebook on Safari. Sign in with your account details.

2. Tap on the A icon in the address bar at the top.

3. Select Request Desktop Website to reload the page in the web version.

Enjoy Facebook on a Big Screen

Facebook users have also whined about the app not working after the latest update on iPad. Since there is no way to roll back to the previous version, you must wait for Facebook to fix the buggy build with a new update. Until then, you can use the web version on Safari or Chrome to browse your Facebook feed.
