There’s no shortage of wild matchups in anime debates, but none hit harder than Goku vs Saitama. This isn’t just about strength, it’s about two unstoppable individuals built for battle. Goku has spent his entire life chasing stronger enemies, turning every fight into a new level-up. From Super Saiyan to Ultra Instinct, he’s climbed the power ladder like it’s second nature. If someone told him there’s a guy out there who ends fights with one punch, Goku wouldn’t hesitate; he’d charge in smiling to spar with him.

Saitama, on the other hand, crushed his limits so fast that he got bored. He didn’t ask to be the strongest. He just trained, got absurdly powerful, and now nothing gets his blood pumping. No real challenge, no real fight. But Goku? He’s different. He doesn’t stop, and he doesn’t give up. A fight between these two isn’t just a battle, it’s the collision between two of the most broken characters in all anime.

Saitama vs Goku: Summary

  • Goku wins in technique and versatility, with abilities like Ultra Instinct, Instant Transmission, and years of training with Whis and Beerus.
  • Saitama dominates in raw strength and durability, able to end fights with a single punch and tank any attack without breaking a sweat.
  • The outcome of the fight hinges on whether Goku’s True Ultra Instinct can overpower Saitama’s exponentially growing strength in battle.
  • However, one must note that Saitama is a parody of heroes like Goku. Also, Goku is capable of wiping out entire galaxies, while Saitama is shown to hold powers on a planetary level. So we think that Goku would win against Saitama in a fight.

How Strong is Goku?

Listing all the transformations that Goku has in his arsenal would take all day. So let’s focus on his strongest form: Perfect Ultra Instinct. In this state, Goku was able to defeat Jiren, earning a standing ovation from the Gods of Destruction for unlocking this godly form. Perfect Ultra Instinct allows Goku to react without thinking, with his speed transcending even time. In this form, Goku caught Jiren’s supercharged energy sphere with his hands and destroyed it with just a flick.

While in this form, Goku was able to dodge Jiren’s attacks and simultaneously land punches on him. Perfect Ultra Instinct puts Goku on par with the Gods of Destruction, with the only drawback being that he hasn’t fully mastered the technique. To attain Perfect Ultra Instinct, Goku needs to have a calm, emotionless state of mind, which is pretty difficult to attain and maintain. So, Goku has made a variation of this form called the True Ultra Instinct that allows him to tap into his Saiyan nature, retaining emotions.

With two different variations of his god level form available to Goku, it will be hard for Saitama to even land a single punch on him. But considering that he is Saitama, anything could happen in that fight. On top of Ultra Instinct, Goku has plenty of other techniques like Kamehameha and Instant Transmission, which would be very hard for Saitama to counter.

Unlike Goku, who has a long history of training and breaking through his limits, Saitama is simply strong. He once explained his training routine to Genos, but it’s so basic that it can’t possibly be the reason for his power. Saitama is more of a satirical take on the unbeatable hero trope—someone who never loses and ends every fight with a single punch. Whether it’s a world-ending alien like Boros or a cosmically awakened Garou, no one has been able to stand against him once he gets serious.

As for his moveset, Saitama has Serious Punches, Serious Kicks, and even a Serious Sneeze—a move so powerful it dispersed Jupiter. He can also create afterimages with his Serious Side Hops, as seen in his fight with Speed-o’-Sound Sonic. On top of that, Saitama can survive in outer space, endure radiation, and during his battle with Garou, he unlocked limitless growth. All things considered, Saitama is a terrifying opponent who would raise some very difficult questions for Goku.

So, Who Would Win in a Fight?

There are a few different ways to look at it.

One way is that the answer to who would win in a fight between Goku and Saitama also depends on who the author wants to win. If the fight were to happen in Dragon Ball’s universe, where Goku continues to grow infinitely and already rivals the Gods, Saitama would struggle to even land a direct hit.

The tables would turn If the fight were set in the One Punch Man universe. Saitama is a walking paradox with limitless potential. Saitama’s strength grows mid-battle. It would be similar to fighting someone like Mahoraga from Jujutsu Kaisen, who adapts to any ability thrown at him. Saitama would keep evolving until maybe even Perfect Ultra Instinct couldn’t save Goku, eventually landing his Ultra Serious Punch to seal a win. While Saitama is said to be planetary level, we never get to see the true limit of his power, making it difficult to make a fair comparison between Goku and Saitama.

However, Goku’s power is now on a low multiversal scale. He can take out an entire universe. He is capable of wiping out entire galaxies. Perfect Ultra Instinct pushes him to near-untouchable levels, making it likely that he would overwhelm Saitama before the Caped Baldy could adjust and level up. Saitama is generally believed to be planetary level, making him a formidable opponent but less powerful than Goku.

At the end of the day, fans should remember that Saitama was created as a parody of characters like Goku — heroes who always win. In many ways, Saitama functions more as a gag character than a traditional seriously overpowered character like Goku. So, we feel we will give this one to Goku, but do let us know what you think.
