Is Phantom Blade Zero coming to Xbox or Game Pass on day one? No, it is not. The game launches on October 29, 2026, only on PlayStation 5 and PC, and there is no Xbox version announced for day one. That also means it will not be on Game Pass at launch. If you play on Xbox, here is what that means, why it is happening, and what your options are.
Is Phantom Blade Zero on Xbox Consoles?
There is no Xbox version of Phantom Blade Zero at launch. The developers have not announced an Xbox Series X or Series S release for day one, so if you only own an Xbox console, you cannot play it this week.
Is Phantom Blade Zero on Game Pass?
No. Game Pass depends on the game being released on Xbox hardware, and Phantom Blade Zero is not. So it is not available on Game Pass at launch. This stings a little. Game Pass is one of the easiest ways to try a fast, stylish action game without paying full price, and Phantom Blade Zero is exactly the kind of game people want to test first. A combo-heavy combat game is not for everyone, and a trial run through a subscription would have suited it well.
Phantom Blade Zero Launch Platforms
| Platform | Available at Launch? |
|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Yes |
| PC (Steam) | Yes |
| PC (Epic Games Store) | Yes |
| Xbox Series X/S | No |
| Xbox Game Pass | No |
Why Is There No Xbox Version?
Phantom Blade Zero has a 12-month timed exclusivity deal for consoles with PlayStation 5. In simple terms, no other console version can come out until at least a year after the first release. So an Xbox port cannot arrive before about October 2027. The deal covers consoles, so PC is not affected. That is why the game is on Steam and the Epic Games Store from day one. A timed exclusive is not a permanent one, so the game may still come to Xbox later. Nothing has been announced, though, and we would not plan around a release date until the developers say something.
What Can Xbox Players Do?
You have two choices for now:
- Play it on PC. If you have a gaming PC, you can buy it on Steam or the Epic Games Store at launch. This is the only way to play on day one without a PlayStation.
- Wait for an Xbox release. If the game does come to Xbox after the exclusivity period ends, you can pick it up then, and by that time there should be more reviews and patches to read before you buy.
For many players, waiting is not a bad idea with a new action game, since you get to see how the combat and difficulty settings are received before spending money. If you are on Xbox and just want something similar to play right now, Game Pass has other action games that may fill the gap.
