The Fortnite Mobile Championship is happening this weekend, and Epic is celebrating with spooky, Halloween-style freebies. All you have to do is watch the stream. It's that easy. This guide covers everything you need to know to get both the free Midnight backbling and pickaxe in Fortnite by using Twitch Drops.

How to Get Free Midnight Backbling and Pickaxe in Fortnite

The cool-looking Midnight Gourdy Backbling and Midnight Batwings Pickaxe can be claimed by watching the Fortnite Mobile Championship on Twitch on October 24th and 25th, 2026. Each day has its own reward, so you’ll need to tune in on both days to collect everything.

You need to watch the stream for the required amount of time to unlock each drop. You can keep the stream running in the background while you play Fortnite, and it will still count. The exact start times haven’t been shared, so follow the official Fortnite social media channels for updates. Usually, it will only take you 30 minutes to watch the stream, and you will get the rewards. We will update this article when the required time is available.

Follow these steps if you want to get the free Twitch Drops in Fortnite:

Step 1: Link your Epic and Twitch accounts

You must link your Epic Games account to your Twitch account before watching the stream. Otherwise, your watch time will not count toward the reward. Here's how to link your accounts:

  1. Go to Epic Games and log in.
  2. Head to Account Settings, then Linked Accounts.
  3. Click the Twitch icon and hit Connect.
  4. Follow the prompts to authorize the link.

Step 2: Find the Fortnite Mobile Championship stream on Twitch

On October 24th or 25th, head to Twitch and open the Fortnite category. You can tune into the official Fortnite channel or any participating stream that has Drops enabled. Only streams with Drops enabled will count toward your reward.

Step 3: Watch and claim

  1. Keep the stream open and unmuted, as Twitch may stop tracking muted windows.
  2. Watch for the required time to unlock that day’s drop. You’ll get a Twitch notification when you hit it.
  3. Go to Twitch, open Drops & Rewards, and claim your item manually.
  4. Your cosmetic should show up in Fortnite within 24 hours.

The Mobile Championship Twitch Drops run only through Sunday, October 25th. If you miss a day, you won’t be able to claim that day’s reward.

Twitch Drops like these are usually limited-time rewards, and there’s no guarantee they’ll return for free. They also rarely show up in the Item Shop later. So watch the Fortnite Mobile Championship this weekend and add the Midnight Gourdy and Midnight Batwings to your locker for free!
