I am sure, you have seen people using ‘cartoon character of themselves’ as their display picture in a various internet forum and SNW (social networking websites). But have you ever wonder how these ‘cartoon characters’ are made?
Well so far, I have seen two ways of doing it. One, by using advance image editing tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. This method requires skills and is relatively hard for beginners, while the second method is simple. Bitstrips is the so far the best and most popular website to create a cartoon of yourself. Simply go to the website, and you can immediately start by selecting your gender and then progress by choosing your facial parts like eyes, nose, jawline, hairstyle, etc. It also has it’s Android and iOS app.
Once you are satisfied with your final ‘Avatar’, you can save it by login to your Facebook account. But if you want to do more, then you can even create your character in the various scene, or create an entire comic. Following is the ‘cartoon image of me’ set up with its trips.

I was using this website before I came to know about bit strips. The interface is plain and simple. You can either generate a ‘random avatar’ for yourself, or you can create one that looks like you. The procedure is same, start by selecting your head shape and then proceed by choosing your eyes, nose, hairstyle, clothing and so on.
Once you are done with your avatar, you can download it, in png or jpg format. However, the image resolution is too small to use, in SNW but is suitable for the internet forum.
FaceQ
Unlike others, it’s not an online web-service but FaceQ an Android app. The only reason to have this on the list is that of the popularity of Android. I like the interface, it was clean and simple with no ads. The process of creating cartoon avatar of yourself is similar to above two websites, i.e.,. combining various face parts of the face.
