Fortnite 9th Birthday Event Guide – Start Time, Quests, and Rewards

Nine years is a pretty long run for any battle royale, and Epic marks it the same way every September. This year's Fortnite 9th Birthday event comes with new quests and rewards that you can do and claim for free. Here is your guide to Fortnite 9th Birthday event including event times, quests, and rewards.

When Does the Fortnite 9th Birthday Event Start

Fortnite 9th Birthday event will start on Monday, September 21st, 2026, and update v42.20 already includes the birthday files. Here is when the event will start approximately in different time zones:

The event runs until around Thursday, October 1st, which gives you around 10 days to finish everything.

All Fortnite 9th Birthday Rewards

This year gives you five free cosmetics through quests, including a pickaxe, a back bling, and a new skin. Here is everything that you can get and how to get it:

The 9th Birthday Sprite Spray and also the 9th Birthday Skin are the odd ones out. Epic hides a code that you can put in the Admin Panel, and you will get the gift after that.

The code will be revealed during the event, and we will update this section with the code once it's available in the game. You can get the free skin reward by mastering 28 Sprites that you have collected during Chapter 7 Season 4.

Fortnite Birthday Sprite Release Date

The Birthday Sprite will arrive on Saturday, September 26th, and this release date is officially confirmed. Battle Royale first launched on September 26, 2017, so the date lines up with the real anniversary.

While the Sprite is equipped, opening chests and getting eliminations can randomly spawn a birthday cake that restores both your health and shield.

You can also expect a redesigned Birthday Battle Bus, in-game birthday gifts that you can throw, and some extra XP. Last year's event gives a good idea of how the items work. Each cake slice restored 10 HP and 10 shield, and Birthday Presents were legendary items that you throw to open. I haven't seen balloons mentioned in the leaks, so don't count on them.
