Fortnite Treasure Hunters mini season launched with 13 brand new pirate-themed Sprites, and you can collect them by finding Wanted Posters around the map, following the Treasure Maps they drop, and digging up buried Sprite Chests, or simply by opening chests during your matches. Each one has a unique passive ability that grows stronger as it levels up, covering everything from healing in water to shockwave landings that knock back enemies. Here’s the full breakdown of all the Sprites coming in Fortnite Treasure Hunters mini-season, what they do, and which variants to look out for.
What Are Sprites in Fortnite Treasure Hunters?
Sprites are small collectible companions that give you passive bonuses during matches. If you played Override last season, you already know the deal. Treasure Hunters brings a fresh batch, all pirate-themed to match the season’s buried treasure concept. Most of the new Sprites are part of Fortnite’s ongoing One Piece collab, which explains the fun nautical designs.
As of the November 1st update (v43.00), there are 35 Sprites in total, with 13 base Sprites and their Fortune and Cursed variants. Cursed Sprites are in the game files but not yet enabled, and Gold Sprites are scheduled to arrive on November 12th, 2026. Each Sprite also levels up as you use it, so the sooner you start collecting, the stronger your companion gets throughout the mini season.

How to Get Sprites in Fortnite Treasure Hunters
There are two main ways to get Sprites in Treasure Hunters:
- Searching Sprite Chests - The most passive method. As you open chests during a match, there’s a chance a Sprite drops.
- Wanted Posters and Buried Sprite Chests - This is the new mechanic introduced in Treasure Hunters. Here’s how it works:
- Find a Wanted Poster on a wall near any POI.
- Interact with it, and it turns into a Sprite Treasure Map.
- Follow the map to the marked location on the island.
- Use your pickaxe to dig up the buried Sprite Chest.
- Open it and collect your Sprite.
You can also use a Lucky Locator (earnable from Sprite Mastery rewards) to detect buried Sprite Chests without needing a Treasure Map first. Wanted Posters spawn all over the island but tend to cluster around POIs, so that’s your best drop point if you’re specifically hunting Sprites.

Sprite Variants in Fortnite Treasure Hunters
Every base Sprite can come in additional variants, each with their own bonus on top of the Sprite’s default ability. Here’s a quick summary of all three upcoming variant types:
| Variant | Status | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Fortune | Live | Reveals nearby Chests |
| Cursed | Special (Coming Nov 12) | - Boosts rare variant chances - Water deals damage |
| Gold | Special (Coming Nov 12) | Grants bonus XP per elimination |
- Fortune Sprites are the most immediately useful. They add chest radar to whatever Sprite you’re already running.
- Cursed Sprites come with a real trade-off. You get better odds of finding rarer variants, but water suddenly becomes a hazard. Plan your rotations accordingly and avoid river crossings if you’re running a Cursed variant.
- Gold Sprites drop on November 12 alongside the Cursed, and they reward bonus XP for every elimination you get.
Sprite Mastery Rewards in Fortnite Treasure Hunter
Collecting Sprites isn’t just fun, it pays out with a full Sprite Mastery progression system. As you level up and master Sprites, you’ll unlock rewards including:
- Lucky Locators
- Golden Fireworks
- Sprite Mastery Strongbox Back Bling
- Navigator’s Nosedive Umbrella
A new page of Mastery rewards unlocks every week during the mini season. Fortnite Treasure Hunters runs for 35 days, so there’s enough time to chase all the Sprites and the Umbrella if you start collecting now and stay consistent.
