I really like how the Forza Horizon 6 developers make exploration feel rewarding. Japan is one of my favorite places in the world, and the game gives you plenty of reasons to explore every part of it. Racing is one way to do that, but photography is another. Photo Mode isn’t just for taking pictures of your cars though. It's also a great way to capture the beautiful scenery across Japan’s massive map. Here’s everything you need to know to find all the photography locations in Forza Horizon 6.
What Are Photography Locations in Forza Horizon 6?
Photography spots are specific landmarks, murals, and seasonal items scattered across the map. To photograph them, you can open Photo Mode or use the Creative Hub tab in the menu.

These spots are part of the Discover Japan Collection Journal, and they won't show up as icons on your map. When you frame the right landmark in Photo Mode and take the shot, the journal entry gets ticked off automatically.

The reward for completing the entire Photography category is obtaining the Toyota Chaser V car, plus credits along the way.
Forza Horizon 6 Photography Locations Guide
So, there are various photo spots that you need to find in the game. I will divide them into different categories:
Mural Locations
There are eight murals hidden across the map. None of them is marked, so you need to know exactly where to look:
1. Wakana Yamazaki Mural
Head to Narai-juku in the Shimanoyama Region and check the buildings along the road on the southern side of town.

2. Kenji Iwasaki Mural
In the Sotoyama Region, look for a building between the mountain slopes and Sotoyama Ski Resort. The mural is on its outer wall.

3. Dragon 76 Mural
Travel north of Shirakawa-go in the Minamino Region and find a white building nearby. The mural is painted on the outside.

4. Naoshi Mural
Go to the Shimanoyama Region and find the building sitting below the radio tower.

5. Lady Aiko Mural
Drive northwest of Tokyo City, search near the baseball field close to the Food Delivery job area. The Lady Aiko mural is the trickiest one here since Tokyo City is packed with buildings. It's easy to drive right past it. So keep an eye out for this one.

6. Tatsuro Kiuchi Mural
Visit Ito Airfield in the Ito Region and check the hangar located at the very bottom of the area.

7. Okuyama Taiki Mural
In the Hokubu Region, head to the small town above the field maze and search the nearby buildings.

8. Kazuhisa Uragami Mural
Go to Irokawa Space Center in the Nangan Region and inspect the hangar closest to the southern edge of the area.

Landmark Locations
These are the big physical landmarks spread across every region of the map.
1. Chaser Zero (Ohtani)
You can find this at the Horizon Festival Site, or simply photograph it during the "Mech My Day" wristband event.

2. Daikoku Monument (Tokyo City)
Head to Daikoku Parking Area southeast of Tokyo City and look for the tall glass building.

3. Hirosaki Castle (Takashiro)
Travel to the northeastern part of the Takashiro region, where the castle sits surrounded by water.

4. Kinkaku-ji (Ohtani)
Find the Golden Temple southwest of the Horizon Festival Site near the lake.

5. Kitayama Big Daisugi (Ito)
Go northeast of Ito Airfield and photograph the giant trees in the area.

6. Peace Torii (Shimanoyama)
Drive along the southwest coast until you spot the torii gate standing in the water.

7. Ruriko-ji Temple (Minamino)
Head to the northwest side of the region and photograph the temple buildings. Avoid taking a picture of just the pagoda since it won’t count.

8. Shirakawa Island Farmhouse (Minamino)
Go west of town and look for a farmhouse sitting on a small island in the river.

9. Sotoyama Ski Resort (Sotoyama)
Head south of the ski slopes and photograph the two large resort buildings.

10. Statue of Hachiko (Tokyo City)
Visit Shibuya Crossing and search for the famous dog statue nearby.

11. Temple of Nachi Falls (Takashiro)
Travel to the far western side of the region and find the temple in the middle of a circular road.

12. HZN-VI Rocket (Nangan)
Go to Irokawa Space Center and photograph either the rocket on the launch pad or the one inside the hangar.

13. Tokyo Tower (Tokyo City)
Find the tall red tower on the western side of Tokyo City, just south of the Food Delivery job area.

Seasonal Photography Spots
Some items only show up during certain in-game seasons. If you're missing one of these, check what season is currently active before spending hours searching for something that simply isn't there yet.
| Photography Spot | Season Available | Region |
|---|---|---|
| Kites | Summer | Shimanoyama |
| Koinobori Fish Flags | Spring (also in Prologue) | Ohtani |
| Water Lanterns | Summer | Shimanoyama |
| Tanabata Streamers | Summer | Hokubu and Ohtani |
| Sky Lanterns | TBA | TBA |
Once you've found all the photography locations in Forza Horizon 6, you'll have ticked off one of the most satisfying categories in the Discover Japan Journal and earned yourself a clean Toyota Chaser V for the garage. Happy hunting!
