FAQs
1. Are these Hidden ChatGPT Chats private?
OpenAI claims that these chats will not be saved nor used for training. They do mention that chats are saved for 30 days and reviewed to check for abuse and how well the language learning model performs. So the hidden chats are completely private. Rather they are like Incognito mode on your browser.
2. Does Disabling Chat History Sync Between Devices?
No, disabling the Chat history on ChatGPT will not sync between devices. It will only disable the history on that particular browser or app. So even if you open ChatGPT on a different browser app, you again have to manually disable the Chat history as of now.
ChatGPT History
The ability to save chat history is a key feature of ChatGPT as you can get back to the conversation anytime later. In case you don’t want any particular chat to be saved, you can either delete it or simply turn off the chat history until you are done. Do not consider these chats as completely private because OpenAI clearly states that they can access and review these conversations for development purposes.
By the way, do you know that now you can share your ChatGPT conversations with any one?
