This Anime Zero Progression guide covers everything from your very first spins to endgame raids, XP farming, dungeon types, build tips, and dungeon combat fundamentals so you can level up as fast as possible. A complete beginning-to-end game guide.
Step 1: Start With Codes and Spins
The very first thing you should do when you load into Anime Zero is redeem all active codes. Codes give you a significant amount of Lucky Rubies, Crystals, and Coins, which you need to start rolling for characters. Before you begin spinning, make sure to unlock all three character slots first, so you have room to build your squad properly.

Step 2: Get the Right Characters Early
Your early character priority should look like this:
- Slot 1 (Main DPS): Mochi Commander: A hybrid character that can do both melee and ranged damage.
- Slot 2 (Support): Immortal Sovereign: Can dodge and comes in handy in boss fights.
Use auto spin to roll for characters and keep going until you land your targets. If you get Cataclysm, consider it a bonus, as it is one of the strongest characters in the game.

Step 3: Get Your First Evolution
Once you have your starting characters, visit the Evolution NPC and check the requirements for whichever character you are using. You will be grinding story mode to get evolution materials, so keep running story dungeons on Nightmare difficulty only. Do not waste time on lower difficulties if you can clear Nightmare, as it gives significantly more XP and better materials per run.
While grinding story for evolution materials, you can also use the convert system at the crafting NPC to swap story items into whichever specific material you need, so nothing goes to waste.

Step 4: Skill Tree, Traits, and Accessories
Once you have your first evolution done, focus on these three things in order:
- Skill Tree: Go to the skill tree and unlock Attack and Crit nodes first. These give the most direct damage improvement and will noticeably speed up your clears.
- Traits: Open the traits menu and filter for Mythic, Legendary, and Epic rarities. For Immortal Sovereign, aim for Focus 3. For Mochi Commander, get at least Epic, but higher is always better. Use auto-reveal and keep rolling until you hit your targets.
- Accessories: The game allows you to equip four accessories. Farm story mode to get the materials you need or AFK Infinite mode to passively collect them over time. Craft the best accessories available and fill all four slots as soon as possible.

Step 5: Always Buy From the Shop
Make it a habit to purchase both the Legendary and Rare items from the shop every time they are available. Coins are not hard to earn in Anime Zero, so there is no reason to skip these purchases. They will consistently give you useful materials that would otherwise take longer to farm.
Dungeon Combat Tips
No matter which dungeon you are running, these five habits will make you significantly more effective:
- Always dash. Walking and running are not fast enough to dodge boss attacks. Make dashing your default movement in combat, especially during boss phases.
- Spam abilities. There is no mana system in Anime Zero, so use your skills as often as possible. Never hold them for a specific moment when you could be dealing damage constantly.
- Learn your combos. For Mochi Commander, the core combo is First, Third, First, Second. Simple and effective. Learn the pattern for your character and make it muscle memory.
- Keep your distance. One hit from a boss can deal massive damage. Unless you are playing melee, always stay at range and only close in when you know the boss is in a safe animation.
- Observe attack patterns. There is no timer on any dungeon, so there is no pressure to rush. Watch what the boss does, learn when to attack and when to back off, and play patiently.

FAQs
Mochi Commander is the strongest early pick because of its hybrid kit and four skill slots.
Always farm Nightmare Story if your build can handle it. It gives the highest XP per hour and the best materials. Drop to Hard if Nightmare clears are taking too long.
Redeem codes, unlock all three slots, pull Mochi Commander and Immortal Sovereign, evolve your main character, and unlock Attack and Crit in the skill tree.
