Google’s NotebookLM has gained a lot of attention and userbase since its launch. You can add webpages and upload documents to NotebookLM, and it’ll turn that into a podcast. NotebookLM uses AI to read what you’ve uploaded and makes a podcast where two AI hosts talk about the topic. It’s a fun way for students and researchers to learn things differently. Some people are even uploading these AI-made podcasts on YouTube and other platforms!

But if you’re using NotebookLM, here’s some good news—you now have a better option. Meet Jellypod. With Jellypod, you can create longer podcasts and even edit the outline or script before it starts the podcast. You can pick from a variety of AI-generated voices or train the tool to use your own voice for a personal touch. Instead of settling for whatever you get, Jellypod gives you full control helping customize the experience. Here’s how you use Jellypod to create podcasts and everything you need to know about it.

What’s Jellypod?

This is a dedicated AI tool to create podcasts using AI. Add sources, and it will automatically turn them into a podcast in a few seconds. Compared to NotebookLM, Jellypod comes with many advantages. Here’s a quick table showing all the differences between NotebookLM and Jellypod:

Not only the customization, but the voices in Jellypod are also more natural, and the discussions are on par with NotebookLM. Similar to NotebookLM, it may occasionally make mistakes, either by misunderstanding the source information or hallucinating. However, with Jellypod, you can edit these mistakes yourself. There is an option to edit the transcripts.

I generated three podcasts. One 45 minutes long and two shorter ones (4 and 9 minutes, respectively). I was personally surprised by the 45-minute script. It kept the tone consistent throughout the podcast and even occasionally rewound the discussion to give a good closure for the audience—something I haven’t seen in NotebookLM.

As mentioned in the table, you receive 1000 credits as a starter pack, which allows you to generate around 30 minutes of podcast content. To generate additional content, you will need a Plus subscription. Jellypod currently offers three plans priced at $29, $59, and $200. With each plan, you gain access to more credits, support for more sources per episode, the ability to download podcasts as MP3, and additional features. Here’s everything you need to know about each plan:
