Steal an Egg is a Roblox game where your goal is exactly what the name suggests. You sneak into different areas across the map, steal eggs from animals guarding them, bring them back to your garden, hatch them into pets, and use those pets to generate money every second. It sounds simple, but there is a solid progression loop beneath it that keeps things engaging as you push further into the map. Here is a beginner's guide to get you started in Steal an Egg.
Steal an Egg - How the Game Works
The core loop of Steal an Egg has four basic steps that repeat throughout the entire game. Steal an egg from one of the zones on the map. Bring it back to your garden and place it down. Wait for it to hatch into a pet. Place the pet in your garden, and it will start generating money passively every second. The further into the map you go, the better the eggs and pets you can find but the Guardians protecting them are faster and harder to escape. Your job is to build up enough speed to reach and escape from those harder zones over time.
How to Get Started With Steal an Egg
When you first load in head, straight to the free rewards section. Look for the area that lets you like the game, favourite it, and join the community group. Doing all three gives you 10,000 speed for free which is a massive early boost that makes the opening hours significantly easier. Do not skip this step. Next check your pet index in the left corner of your screen. Every new pet you discover can be claimed for a free reward. Check this regularly and claim everything available as these rewards add up quickly.
How to Steal Eggs
Walk to one of the egg zones on the map and wait for eggs to spawn or reset. Grab an egg and run back to your garden before the Guardian catches you. Different zones have different recommended speed requirements, so start with the Forest zone as a beginner and work your way outward as your speed increases.
A few things to keep in mind when stealing. Eggs reset periodically, so if you miss one, just wait for the next reset. Guardians will chase you aggressively, so always have an escape route in mind before grabbing. You can place bear traps from your inventory on the ground to slow down chasing Guardians, giving you more time to escape. Use your traps wisely as they are a limited resource early on.

Pets Mechanism
Pets are the foundation of everything in Steal an Egg. Every egg you successfully steal and hatch produces a pet, and that pet goes straight into your garden where it starts generating passive income every second. There are currently 78 pets to collect across all the different biomes in the game with each biome featuring pets that match its environment.
What makes pets more interesting than a simple rarity system is that two identical pets can actually earn different amounts of money depending on their size and mutations. A pet with a better size or a rare mutation will out-earn a standard version of the same pet. Always check the size and mutation of a pet before deciding whether to keep it or replace it with something else.

Purpose of Trails
Trails serve two purposes in Steal an Egg. They leave an animated visual effect behind your character as you move which looks great but they also provide a direct speed boost, making them one of the most practically useful purchases in the game. There are currently 10 Trails ranging from Common to Divine rarity available in the dedicated Trail Shop.
Because speed determines which biomes you can access, investing in a Trail upgrade as soon as you can afford one is always worthwhile. Check the Trail Shop whenever you have spare cash and upgrade whenever the next tier is within reach.

How to Earn Money Fast
Your pets are your primary income source. Every pet placed in your garden generates money passively every second. The more pets you have and the higher their rarity, the more money you earn. Early on,, focus on filling your garden completely rather than holding out for rare pets. A full garden of common pets earns more than a half-empty garden waiting for something better. Upgrade your garden when you can as higher-level gardens allow you to place more pets, increasing your passive income significantly.

How to Increase Your Speed
Speed is the single most important stat in Steal an Egg. Without enough speed, you cannot reach better egg zones, and you cannot escape Guardians chasing you. There are two main ways to increase it.
Treadmill is your most important speed source. Unlock it by spending $1,000 to upgrade your garden, then walk or AFK on it to passively gain speed over time. Upgrade the treadmill regularly as each upgrade level gives you more speed per second. You can AFK on the treadmill while doing something else, which makes it one of the most efficient passive upgrades in the game.
Trails are purchasable speed boosts available in the Trail Shop. Each trail gives a different amount of speed, so check what is available whenever you have spare cash and grab the best one you can afford.

How to Use the Fuse Machine
The Fuse Machine is one of the most important progression tools in the game, and many beginners overlook it. To use it collect three of the same pet and combine them in the fuse machine to create one higher rarity version of that pet. The fused pet is stronger than any of the three originals and generates more money per second. As you accumulate duplicates of common pets, start fusing them rather than just leaving them in your garden. Better pets mean better luck, and better luck means better egg drops over time.
