Detect Country of Origin for Chinese Products Using Chrome Extension
If you’re using Chrome or Chromium-based browsers, we’re going to use an extension called Chinese product detector. It’s a fairly new extension and lets users ascertain products on Amazon with a minimalistic icon in the extension tab. I’ve used it on Amazon before and noticed that it works well with most tech products.
In case you notice the wrong origin of product info, you can report the product from the extension icon itself.
To get started, visit the Chrome extension page and click on Add to Chrome. This will download the extension and install it on your browser. Once it’s done, you’ll see a circular icon on the top right corner of the Chrome browser.
You do not have to configure the extension, just visit Amazon. If you’ve opened the product page already, refresh the tab for the extension to work.
The extension icon turns green whenever it detects a Chinese product
The extension only works with Amazon as of now and isn’t 100% accurate. So once you check, make sure to recheck it on the manufacturer’s website as well.
