This guide explains how to sign out of your Amazon account on specific or all devices. Let’s go.

Sign Out of a Specific Device

Follow this method if:

● You don’t want to share your Amazon account with your ex anymore.
● Your old flatmates are still using your Prime Video account.
● You gifted an Echo Dot but suspect it might contain your login credentials.
● You forgot to log out of your Amazon account on a device that you no longer use.

Here are the steps:

1. On Amazon website, go to Account & lists menu in the top-right corner and select Devices or something similar based on your region.

2. Under the Devices tab, select an Amazon service to see a list of devices that are logged in. For example, Prime Video or Amazon.

3. Click on the Deregister button next to the device you want to remove or sign out of. Follow the on-screen prompt and confirm if required.

In our testing, it took 2 to 5 minutes for the device to be logged out. Also, the above steps can be followed from both Amazon app and site, but not from Kindle and Echo devices.

Sign Out of All Devices

Follow this method if:

  • Suspicious logins detected.
  • Password has been compromised.

There are two ways to do it.

1. Change Password

This works for all apps and services and not just Amazon. Changing your account’s password will force the app to log out from all devices automatically.

1. On Amazon site, go to Accounts & lists and select Your account.

2. Click on Login & security.

3. You will asked to enter the password and a 6-digit code (received via email or message) even if you have not enabled 2FA for security.

4. Click on Edit next to Password.

Note: Alexa devices like Echo Dot will be disconnected too. Alexa will make an announcement first. But it is easy to reconnect using the Alexa app.

2. Without Password Change

In case, you want to log out of Amazon on all devices without changing your password. You can do that from:

1. Open Amazon site and go to Account & lists > Your Account and click on Login & Security settings.

2. Click on Start next to Compromised account.

3. To log out of Amazon on all devices, click on Sign out of everything at the bottom.

In the next step, Amazon will ask you to change password if you want but the step is optional.

And you are done.
