Dress To Impress Tales of the Dark King Quest is the game’s big Halloween event, and it’s a lot more involved than your average seasonal quest. You deal with a fuel-draining boat across more than one chapter, a timed mansion escape, and hidden medallions - all with the clock ticking. How to Start the Dress To Impress Tales of the Dark King Quest

Teleport to Tales of the Dark King server first. When you arrive, you will find Lana, so you need to talk to her. Then, after the cutscene finishes, go into the quest lobby and make your way down the path to the bottom. Talk to the NPC there and choose whether you want to play solo or with others (4 players max). For your first run, solo is honestly the smarter pick, so there’s less chaos, and you can move at your own pace.

This chapter is a juggling act. Your job is to keep the fuel lantern powered by running back and forth across the boat during the 180m travel distance, while also stopping evil souls from climbing on board.

1. Managing the Fuel

The fuel drains fast, so don’t stop moving. Keep filling it up, but the moment you see an evil soul climbing the side, go knock them off. They have low HP before they fully board, so you can’t just ignore them. It’s all about balance.

2. Collecting Orbs

The boat stops three times when fuel runs completely out. Each time, you hop off a small island and collect 10 glowing orbs scattered around the land.

They show up as floating blue balls, so just run around the whole area until you hit 10. You can’t cross the river, so go around and find ways to cross it with wooden planks. Each refuel round gets a little harder, so expect the third round to feel more hectic than the first.

DTI Tales of the Dark King Quest Chapter 2: The Village and Mansion

Once you’re off the boat, follow the small glowing light floating ahead of you. It’ll take you straight to the village while a cutscene with two ghosts talking to you. Watch the cutscene, and then you will spawn at the dock.

Walk up to the Atropos NPC, a woman with a white dress and green cape in front of a house. There will be another cutscene.

After it's done, just follow the steps below:

1. Finding the Key

Follow the path until you come across a gate with a warning note. Keep on going straight until you reach the locked gate. Now you need to search the nearby houses for the key and pass the gate, because the objective is to find your way out of the village.

Check inside one unlocked building just in front of the gate with the note earlier. The key is on top of a table there. Once you’ve got it, unlock the gate, hop across the rocks, and you’re at the mansion.

2. Escaping Before 7 AM

Now your next objective is to enter Agamemnon's mansion. Inside the mansion, you’ve got a countdown timer ticking toward 7 AM, and you need to finish everything before it hits zero. You need to discover clues and complete puzzles around the mansion to find the way out.

3. First Numbered Puzzle

In the lobby, you will find 6 platforms with items on top of them. You need to move the items based on their specific numbers. Start by exploring every room to find the clues. Check all the walls for numbered clues (items 1 through 6) that tell you how to arrange a specific display. I've done it, and I will help give you the list here:

Now, pick up each and every item and put them into their correct platform. Then, the first Calchas Medallion will be available. Pick it up and equip it.

There are a total of three medallions spread across the mansion, and each one unlocks the next area. Once all three are placed in the right spots, a door opens up leading underground.
