Fisch's The Mariana's Awakening update has dropped, bringing the brand-new Obsidian Trench layer and a massive expansion to the Mariana's Veil bestiary. There are 12 new species exclusive to the Obsidian Trench itself, plus 10 additional species spread across the existing Mariana's Veil layers. Here is your guide to the Obsidian Trench Bestiary in Fisch and all 22 fish species found in it.
Note: This guide is a work in progress, as the update only just went live, and we are working to pin down bait preferences, weather conditions, and time requirements for each fish.
How to Access the Obsidian Trench in Fisch
Before you can fish in the Obsidian Trench, you need to unlock it first. Speak to Vaelor in Roslit Bay to begin investigating the glowing mineral veins across all five layers of Mariana's Veil. Complete the specialized mutation quests for Vaelor's five layer-guarding descendants spread across the Volcanic Vents, Challenger's Deep, Abyssal Zenith, Calm Zone, and Veil of the Forsaken. Then dive into the abyss to find the Crevice Wall, decipher the active wall riddle, and ignite all layer gems to unlock access to the Obsidian Trench.
