It’s very easy to download images on Google Chrome. All you have to do is right-click and choose the ‘Save image as’ option from the pop-up menu. Alternatively, you can also choose the ‘Open image in the new tab’ option to download it in the original resolution or just drag and drop it to a folder on your desktop. But what do you do if you wish to download images on a page in bulk or simply download one frame from the YouTube video you’re watching? Here are some image downloader extensions for Chrome that will help save images from most sites in bulk with a few simple clicks.
Best Image Downloader Chrome Extensions
1. Click Image Downloader
Best for: Replacing the right click save image option with a keyboard shortcut
As I said in the introduction, the native method to download an image on Chrome works well for one or two images. Click Image Downloader extension for Chrome saves you time by allowing you to save images with a keyboard shortcut. Simply hold the Shift key and right-click which saves you a wee bit of time. The extension works well with Google Images and Bing, but not with other websites.
Another similar extension is the Shift Click Image Extractor that even shows a preview of the image while downloading it. However, since it opens each image in a new tab first, 1 Click Image Downloader is a better and quicker choice.
2. Image Downloader
Best for: Bulk downloading images from any website
I tried multiple bulk image downloaders and by far, Image Downloader Chrome extension is the best one. It’s open-source and allows you to filter images by image width and height. In addition to this, you can also access URLs for all the images on a webpage. The extension works for both single and bulk image downloads as you get the option to click and select only the images that you want to download.
There is only one known issue with the extension. It may sometimes detect and download the image thumbnail rather than the original size. However, you can open the selected images in a new tab and then download which solves the issue. If you still face frequent resolution issues, Image Downloader is another extension (with the same name) that you can try.

In addition, you can right click and save the images or click on the image contributor’s name to open Unsplash’s website.

Best for: Downloading pictures and color codes used in a website
Lodaify is a very unique image downloader extension for Chrome browser. It not only allows you to download images, but you can also find the color codes used. Useful for those who are into designing and frequently need to find color codes.
The extensions also come with an image downloader that detects even the smallest of icons and shows them in a new tab. Closing Remarks: Download Images Using Chrome Extensions
There are other options but these are some of the best Chrome extensions to download images in bulk. I personally use 1 Click Image Downloader as it allows me to skip the ‘save as’ option. Choose one based on your specific needs. Don’t end up installing too many extensions which would slow down the browser itself.
