Season 3 is almost over, and players are wondering when Epic will end the season. A date has been mentioned by many players, but there is still some confusion about what is confirmed and what is only speculation. This is the answer to when the next Fortnite live event is.
When Is the Next Fortnite Live Event?
The next Fortnite live event is called Unstable, and it's the one that closes out Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners. Leakers pulled the name and logo straight out of the v41.30 update files, and the Fortnite Wiki has already listed it as an upcoming Story Moment.
Epic Games hasn't put an official date on it yet. What we do know is that Season 3 ends on August 19th, 2026, according to the in-game Battle Pass timer. Reports currently point to Saturday, August 15th, 2026 as the most likely day for the live event to play.
If you're newer to Fortnite, Live Events are the huge cinematic set pieces where the island gets torn apart, and you can't shoot anyone. Story Moments are shorter, smaller, and often happen during a normal match with damage still enabled.

What to Expect from Unstable Live Event
The Stabilizer has been under construction throughout Season 3, and the event's name, Unstable, already hints that things are not going to go as planned.
Slone and The Singularity returned and teamed up with The Seven. The Foundation disappeared after his fight with the Ice King at the end of Season 2. Jonesy was also shot by Geno and has been in a coma ever since (you can find him in the game, though!). Unstable is expected to bring these storylines together.
There are also rumors that the event will have a retro, glitch-themed style, with players getting "hacked" before being rebooted. That lines up with reports that Chapter 7 Season 4 will have a gaming theme. Dataminers found references to Sonic the Hedgehog, Dr. Eggman, Joker from Persona 5, Mega Man, Pac-Man, and Tetris in the v41.30 files.
How to Join the Next Fortnite Live Event
- Get into a match at least 30 minutes before the start time. Lobbies fill fast, and servers get crowded if you don't start early.
- Story Moments usually run in standard Battle Royale or Zero Build matches.
- If Epic gives the event its own playlist, it'll show up there a couple of hours beforehand.
- Story Moments happen at specific POIs, so watch Epic's socials for the location on the day.
- Most events run once and once only, so don't expect a replay.
