GTA 6 pre-orders went live on June 25, and within hours, people were talking about bulk purchases, resale strategies, and everything day one hype. I get it. This is one of the biggest game releases in history, and the excitement is completely justified. But I did not pre-order GTA 6, and honestly, I am not sure why so many people are rushing to either.
You Get the Same GTA 6 Bundle in November
To be clear, I am not saying the GTA 6 pre-order bonus is worthless. The Vintage Vice City pack is a nice little extra, and if you are going to buy the game anyway, getting a free car and some outfits on top of it is genuinely a small bonus. That is actually why I plan to pick it up in late October, close enough to launch to still grab the pre-order content but without locking my money away for months right now. In the meantime, there are other releases I want to spend on, and I would rather put my money there than hand it to Rockstar in June for a game I cannot play until November.

The Resale Argument Does Not Hold Up
There are reports of people buying multiple copies to resell at a premium later. I understand this logic when there is a physical disc involved, since disc copies can become scarce and prices can genuinely spike. But GTA 6 is digital only right now. There is no disc to resell. There is no shelf to empty. Anyone who wants the game on launch day can just buy it digitally at the standard price. The resale opportunity that people seem to be banking on does not really exist in the same way it would for a physical release and there is no confirmed information yet on whether a disc version will even be sold separately or at a different price point down the line.
I Will Buy It in November
None of this means I am not buying GTA 6. I absolutely am. Rockstar is not going to stop selling the game after launch day and the game will be exactly as good in November whether you paid in June or not. Waiting just means I keep my money a little longer and buy it when I am actually sitting down to play it. For a digital only release with no scarcity and standard pre-order bonuses that is the only approach that makes sense to me.
