Since the launch of Meta’s new microblogging platform, Threads, it has quickly grasped the attention of millions of users. If you’ve recently signed up for Threads, you may wonder how to follow or unfollow someone on it. But don’t worry. In this article, we will show you multiple ways to follow or unfollow anyone on Threads app and you’re free to go with any method that suits you.

How to Follow Someone on Threads

There are three ways to follow someone on Threads and we will go through each of them in detail.

Method 1: By Tapping on Profile Picture (Home Feed)

One of the easiest ways to follow someone’s Threads account is from the suggested post. You may have noticed several random accounts appearing on your home feed, that’s because Threads thinks (or hopes) you may like that kind of content.

So if you want to follow such accounts, simply tap on their Profile Picture (with a plus sign), and then hit the Follow button.

Method 2: Using Search

The problem with the above solution is that there will be many random accounts on your home feed instead of the ones you would typically choose to follow. So you may or may not find the above solution practical. In that case, you can follow this method.

1. Launch the Threads app and go to the Search tab.

2. Tap on the Search Bar to find the person or page you’re looking for.

Note: After tapping on the Follow button, it changes to the Following button if the account is public. However, if the account is private, it switches to the Requested button instead. That means the account owner will approve whether or not you can follow and subsequently view their posts. A concept followed on Instagram too.
