Imagine you have recorded a high-resolution video on your Samsung Galaxy or iPhone. Now, you want to send your friend this video, which would be a large file, via Telegram. But you don’t know how to send high-quality videos or even photos on Telegram or will Telegram compress it and ruin the quality? Well, we will show you a simple trick using which you can easily send both photos and videos in original quality on Telegram mobile apps.

Things You Should Know

There are a couple of points that need to be cleared before you begin sharing videos and photos on Telegram.

  • Max file size for both photos and videos is capped at 2GB for free users.
  • Videos will be compressed if the file size exceeds 2GB in size.
  • Telegram Premium users can send files up to 4GB in size, which anyone can download even though they are not a premium user. Premium users also enjoy faster download speeds.
  • Media files can be shared everywhere like personal chat, groups, and channels.

And that’s it.

We will cover both desktop or web and mobile apps here, however, since most people use their smartphones to shoot videos or photos these days. So let’s begin with smartphone apps first.

Send a Visual Telegram

Telegram has updated its UI to make it simpler and easier to send media like photos and videos in high quality. Earlier, there used to be an option to compress files but that has been removed now. They have also released a higher file size limit for subscribers. This plan is for pro users who run large channels and groups on Telegram. A step in the right direction.
