Prerequisites
To share files between Apple Vision Pro and your iPhone, iPad or Mac, here are the few things you need to take care of.
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi should be turned on on both devices.
- iOS 7, iPadOS 13, OS X 10.10, visionOS 1.0, or later version is required for the AirDrop to work.
- Both devices should be logged in with any Apple ID.
- Apart from files, you can also share websites, locations, etc., from one Apple device to another using AirDrop.
To share your screen recordings, photos, videos, and documents from your Vision Pro to your iPhone, iPad or the Mac, follow the steps below:
1. Open the Files app or the Photos app on the Apple Vision Pro. Select the files you want to share. You can also select multiple files just like on the iPhone.
2. After that, look and pinch on the Share icon. It will be available on the screen or under the three horizontal dot menu.
3. In the share menu, select the AirDrop icon in the share sheet.
4. You can see nearby AirDrop receiving devices on the menu that opens. Select the device to share the selected files from your Vision Pro to that chosen device.
5. If the receiving device isn’t showing up on the Vision Pro, open that device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac), open the Settings app > General > AirDrop, and set the AirDrop mode to Contacts Only or Everyone for 10 Minutes. The device needs to be available on the Apple on the Apple Vision Pro.
To share your spatial photos, 3D objects, documents, etc., from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to the Vision Pro, follow the steps below.
1. Open the Files app or the Photos app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac where you want to send the files from.
2. Then select the files that you want to share. You can select a single or multiple files to share it via AirDrop.
3. Once selected, select the Share icon. Then select the AirDrop icon on the Share menu.
4. Next, select your Apple Vision Pro from the nearby AirDrop devices to share the files with the Vision Pro.
5. Incase Apple Vision Pro isn’t showing on the nearby AirDrop list, Open Settings app > General > AirDrop on your Vision Pro. Then set the AirDrop mode to Contacts Only or Everyone for 10 Minutes.
6. Finally, you should see the Vision Pro option on the AirDrop menu on your iPhone, iPad or Mac to share the files instantly.
7. To access these settings easily later, open Settings > Control Center on your Vision Pro and select the plus icon beside the AirDrop to add the AirDrop to your Vision Pro Control Center.
8. Later, you can easily open the Control Center and access the AirDrop modes.
