Slayers 2 – All Lantern Locations

Slayers 2 Lanterns are must-have in-game items for mid-game progression, especially when you want to complete quests in the Iceveil Valley. They not only illuminate dark areas, but some also grant cold immunity and various stat buffs, including Damage, Health, Stamina, and more. Your primary sources for lanterns are NPCs, bosses, Chests, quests, fish, and crafting. Here's the list of all Slayers 2 Lanterns, their stats, and how and where to get them.

How to Get Cherry Blossom Lantern

Stats

The Cherry Blossom Lantern is one of the easiest Lanterns to obtain in Slayers 2. This is because you can simply buy it from Kuro. Head to Bamboo Grove at night and look for Kuro underneath the Tori Gate near The Serpent King Obari. Interact with him and buy the Cherry Blossom Lantern for 2,400 Wen.

How to Get the Lantern of Despair

Stats

The Lantern of Despair is a reward from Ice Chests. It has a 6% drop rate. The easiest way to farm Ice Chests is to defeat the Reaper Trainee Kuzan. This mini-boss is located in the Iceveil Valley.

Once you reach the Iceveil Valley, keep traveling east toward Reaper Trainee Kuzan. Kuzan spawns inside a cave with 1,530 HP. Defeat her to get Ice Chests, and open them to obtain the Lantern of Despair. The lantern's drop rate is low; you might have to defeat Kuzan multiple times and open multiple chests.

How to Get the Abyssal Lantern

Stats:

The Abyssal Lantern is another Lantern that comes from Ice Chests, but it has a much lower 2% drop chance. Like the Lantern of Despair, you must open Ice Chests to obtain the Abyssal Lantern. It's going to be a long fight.

How to Get the Emberheart Lantern

Stats:

The Emberheart Lantern is especially useful for exploring snowy areas as it provides Cold Immunity. You can get it by defeating the Yeti Demon. The lantern has a 25% drop rate. To reach the boss, teleport to the Shrine in Butterfly Estate and head toward the Red Bridge.

Jump down from the bridge and follow the ridge until you reach the waterfall. Jump off the cliff and enter the White Terror Lair to find the Frozen Yeti. You need a Frozen Heart to start the boss fight. You can obtain Frozen Hearts from Rare Chests, Sealed Cache Chests, or by buying them from the Black Marketer. It is one of two Lanterns in Slayers that provide Cold Immunity.

How to Get Fujiko's Lantern

Stats:

You can obtain Fujiko's Lantern from Common Chests at a 1.5% drop chance. Defeat any boss that drops the Common Chest. The two most common bosses are Mother Bear in the Bamboo Grove or Zuko in the Windy Peak. You can farm either boss and open the resulting Chests for a chance to obtain the Lantern. It is one of the easiest Lanterns to obtain in Slayers 2.

How to Get the Mushroom Lit Lantern

Stats:

The Mushroom Lit Lantern requires you to complete a small puzzle involving glowing mushrooms. First, find Old Trapper Retsu and select the "Lantern on your belt" dialogue option. Make sure you have no Lanterns equipped when doing this quest in Slayers 2.

Next, head to the cave where Reaper Trainee Kuzan spawns. On the far right side of the cave, you’ll find glowing mushrooms. Step on the required mushrooms to light them. Complete the puzzle quickly since the progress can reset. Once all the required mushrooms are lit, you can collect the Mushroom Lit Lantern from the nearby cave.

How to Get the Nichirin Lantern

Stats:

The Nichirin Lantern comes from Ouwigahara Dungeon Chests. Once inside Ouwigahara, complete dungeon runs to earn Ouwigahara Caches. Every ten floors you clear gives you a Cache.

The Nichirin Lantern has a 10% drop chance from Ouwigahara Deep Caches and a 5% chance from regular Ouwigahara Caches. You can also spend 30,000 dungeon points to open Ouwigahara Chests, which have a chance to drop Lanterns in Slayers 2.

How to Get the Firstlight Lantern

Stats:

The Firstlight Lantern is one of the Mythic Lanterns in Slayers 2 that you need to craft. However, you first need to obtain its Schematic. Climb the mountain to the left of the Serpent King Obari boss. Enter the building and speak to Lamplighter Isamu. He gives you a memory puzzle where you need to remember the order of the plates that light up and step on them in the correct order.

Complete five rounds of the puzzle without stepping on the wrong plate. Failing a round resets your progress. Once you finish all five rounds, you receive the Firstlight Lantern Schematic and can use it to craft the Lantern.

How to Get the Lost Lantern

Stats:

The Lost Lantern has a 0.9% drop chance from Lost Chests. To farm these Chests, queue for Final Selection near Final Selection Plains. Final Selection starts every two hours, so you may need to wait for the event to begin.

Progress through Final Selection until you reach Mizuto’s quest, which sends you to an underwater cave. Once inside, you can farm the Lost Boss for Lost Chests. You can also fish for the Lost Lantern. Using the Legendary Fishing Rod with good bait increases your chances of getting it.

How to Get the Demonic Lantern

Stats:

The Demonic Lantern can drop from World Event Chests with a 3% drop chance. You can obtain these Chests by defeating bosses with 3,000 HP. Some of the bosses that can reward World Event Chests include:

How to Get the Everburn Lantern

Stats:

The Everburn Lantern is a must-have for frequently traveling in the Iceveil Valley. It provides Cold Immunity, meaning you don't have to stop at campfires to survive the cold. This Lantern is dropped from the Ouwigahara Deep Caches. I currently don't know the exact drop chance, but being a Mythic-rarity item, it is surely below 5%.

It is one of the best Lanterns for exploration in Slayers 2.

Best Lanterns to Get in Slayers 2

The best Lanterns in Slayers 2 depend on your class and what you want to use it for. For damage-focused builds, the Demonic Lantern is one of the strongest options, while Firstlight is better for defensive builds. If you're looking for an all-around Lantern, I recommend Demonic Lantern. It gives +2 Additional Damage, a 1.015x Additional Damage Factor, +105 Max Health, and +55 Max Stamina, making it a great choice for Duelists.

If you're still progressing through the game, however, I recommend getting the Emberheart Lantern first. Its Cold Immunity makes exploring and farming in Iceveil Valley much easier. Keep in mind you must defeat the Yeti Demon to obtain it.
