Who is the Black Marketer NPC in Slayers 2

So, just like merchants in other games, the Black Marketer NPC doesn't sit in one fixed spot. He rotates through ten different spawn points across the entire map, which is exactly why most players either give up looking or end up camping the wrong location.

When he shows up, a notification pops up on screen saying, "The Black Marketer has slipped into town. Find him before he vanishes." There will also be an icon that looks like a person with a straw hat spawning on the map. That's your cue to move fast.

His stock is completely randomized every spawn and resets each time he appears. A lot of the time it's underwhelming, but occasionally he's carrying something good, which is why it's worth checking him every window rather than only hunting when you have a specific item in mind.

Akatsuki Straw Hat

The item most players are after is the Akatsuki Straw Hat. You cannot get it from any other source in the game. It comes with Sun Immunity plus buffs to Max Health, Max Stamina, and Movement Speed Factor. He also stocks armor and other gear that doesn't appear through normal drops.

Black Marketer NPC Spawn Timings in Slayers 2

The Black Marketer NPC follows a global spawn timer, not a per-server one. So if he just spawned and you jump to a new server, you're in the same window, not a fresh one. Keep that in mind so you're not wasting time server hopping.

He appears every two hours at even-numbered hours. So 12:00, 2:00, 4:00, 6:00, 8:00, 10:00, and so on. Once he spawns, he only sticks around for about an hour, then disappears. After that, you've got a one-hour gap before the next spawn window opens at the following even hour.

Here's every confirmed spawn, what the area looks like, and how to navigate to him:

#1 - Hidden Mist Village

Head to Yagane's location in one of the houses in Hidden Mist Village. He spawns inside the house, standing next to Yagane.

#2 - Mistful Harbor

Go to Mistful Harbor and check the big bridge. He's underneath it, standing next to a wall. So look below the road level instead of just running across the top.

#3 - Iceveil Settlement

After you teleport using the Ice Village Shrine, head toward the Domae the Cryokinetic Demon boss area in the north. There will be a house in the back with the Black Marketer NPC icon. He is standing just adjacent to the house wall.

#4 - The Windy Peak Cave

Teleport to the Windy Peak Shrine and climb up the rocky mountain on your left after spawning, and just follow the marker in the image below. When you find a cave, enter it, turn left, and follow the path until you find him.

#5 - Windy Peak Beginner Village

Still in the Windy Peak area, but this time stay outside the village near the Serpent Trainee. You have to climb on a rock a bit here, and he's tucked into a corner between a wall and another rock above.

#6 - Butterfly Estate: Fence Location 1

Teleport to the Butterfly Estate Shrine. Then keep going and follow the marker on the map until you find the area's fence. First jump over it, and then you will see a grey wall surrounding the area. Jump over this grey wall again, and then look down toward the body of water. He is on the rock below the cliff.

#7 - Butterfly Estate: Fence Location 2

For this one, after you spawn on the Butterfly Estate Shrine, you need to go left and cross the red bridge. Keep on going until you reach the cliffs. You need to jump down quite a few times until you reach the rock below, and you will see him hiding there.

#8 - Butterfly Estate: Cliffs

Same as Black Marketer NPC location #7 using the Butterfly Estate Shrine; teleport there, but after you cross the bridge, head east until you find a cliff, and jump down. He spawns right below after you jump down a few cliffs.

#9 - Butterfly Estate: Inside the Fence

Still teleport to the Butterfly Estate Shrine, but now go to the right, directly, just like when you are about to find the #6 location. However, you don't need to jump around right now since the Black Marketer NPC is just standing inside the area.

#10 - Beginner Village

Look for a house that is located on top of some hills at Windy Peaks Beginner Village. Climb the wall surrounding the area before it, and he's waiting on the other side.
