Top 10 Rarest Fortnite Skins Right Now in the Game

The rarest Fortnite skins right now are in a completely different league from the ones that just have not been back in a while. Some Fortnite skins come from console bundles that no longer exist, some were tournament prizes tied to events that never repeated, and one of them was never publicly sold to anyone at all. Here is a complete list of the rarest Fortnite skins, which includes each skin's last seen date, how it was originally obtained, and what makes it so hard or impossible to get today as well.

Top 10 Rarest Fortnite Skins in the Game Right Now

10. Double Helix

Double Helix came with the Fortnite-themed Nintendo Switch bundle in October 2018. The design is a DNA helix-inspired outfit, and like most console exclusives, it was never available separately in the Item Shop. The bundle which includes Pinpoint pickaxe, Telemetry back bling, and Rotor glider has been discontinued, and Epic has shown no intention of moving it into regular rotation. If you did not buy that specific Nintendo Switch at the time, there is simply no path to this skin in 2026.

9. Forsworn Trooper

Forsworn Trooper might be the most unusual skin unlock in Fortnite's entire history. It is a Star Wars-inspired skin, and to get it, you have to physically travel to Disneyland and complete missions on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride. That ride only exists at two Disney parks in the entire world:

After completing the ride mission, you still have to link your Disney and Epic accounts and go through more steps before the skin actually lands in your locker. When you factor in the cost of a Disneyland trip just to unlock a Fortnite outfit, Forsworn Trooper might be the most expensive skin on this list in real-world terms, and most players will never have access to it at all.

8. Shaman

Shaman is one of the most unexplained absences in Item Shop history. It showed up four times across 2019, in March, April, July, and December, and then completely stopped rotating. What makes it stranger is that the rest of the Moonbone set has not disappeared with it. The other skin in the set, Nightwitch, still rotates back into the shop. The Moonbone Pickaxe came back as recently as 2025. Only Shaman has been missing for over six years with zero explanation.

7. Tart Tycoon

Tart Tycoon's origin is directly connected to one of the most chaotic moments in Fortnite's history. The Bad Apple event was a quick-turnaround tournament Epic ran after their public legal fallout with Apple in August 2020. The points threshold to earn the skin was lower than most competitive events, so it was not locked behind elite-level play.

The skin has never appeared in the Item Shop and has never been given out through any other method since. If you were not actively playing and entered that tournament in late August 2020, there is no second chance.

6. Rogue Agent

Rogue Agent was Fortnite's very first Starter Pack, which gives it a historical weight that most skins do not carry. It launched in late March 2018 and ran for 77 consecutive days as a $4.99 pack before being removed. It also had exactly one appearance in the regular Item Shop, on September 15th, 2018, at 1,500 V-Bucks.

That single Item Shop day is what technically puts it on this list. Epic added a LEGO style to Rogue Agent and brought the Tactical Spade Pickaxe back to the shop in September 2025, so it has not been completely forgotten. But the skin itself has been gone for eight years with no return in sight.

5. Reflex

Reflex was designed as an exclusive for buyers of qualifying NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics cards starting in late 2018. That alone would have made it a hardware exclusive.

Then Epic accidentally pushed it into the regular Item Shop on March 3rd and 4th, 2019. Players who bought it during that window got a skin that was never meant to be available to them. Epic pulled it quickly and created a separate Stealth Reflex variant as compensation for original NVIDIA bundle owners. The accidental listing and the bundled version are the same skin with two very different origin stories. It has been completely gone since March 2019 (so over 7 years) which makes it one of the longest-absent skins in the game.

4. World Warrior

World Warrior was created specifically for the 2019 Fortnite World Cup, where Bugha won $3 million in the Solo Finals. The skin was in the Item Shop for exactly three days, from the opening to the close of the event, and left when the competition ended. A second World Cup never happened. The 2020 edition was cancelled and never rescheduled, so World Warrior lost its most natural reason to return. At only 800 V-Bucks, a lot of players probably thought they could buy it next time it came around. Unfortunately, there was no next time.

3. Black Knight

Black Knight was the Tier 70 reward from the Chapter 1 Season 2 Battle Pass, which ran from December 2017 through February 2018. He arrived when fewer players had purchased the Battle Pass at all, and fewer still were grinding tiers all the way up to 70. He was also the first Legendary-tier outfit in Fortnite's history.

Epic has released redesigned versions since then, including Knight Conqueror in a more recent pass. However, the original Black Knight has never returned to the game. It has not appeared in the OG Season Shop or any bundle. Anyone wearing the original Black Knight in 2026 has likely been playing Fortnite for nearly nine years.

2. Galaxy

Galaxy was a standout skin when it first appeared in 2018. It came bundled with select Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets, and the space-themed design looked different from what was in the Item Shop at the time. Spotting one in a lobby during the early Chapter 1 days was a real moment.

It has never appeared in the Item Shop, and Samsung has not revived the promotion with any newer devices. Follow-up Galaxy-themed skins have launched since, but the original 2018 version remains frozen in time. It is a hardware exclusive with no current path to obtain it, and the phones it originally came with are well past their product life.

1. Sideline Commander

Sideline Commander sits in a category entirely its own. It was never sold in the Item Shop. It was never tied to a console, a hardware bundle, or a tournament. It was simply never made available to the public in any way. Epic originally planned to release the skin, but the launch was cancelled because its design looked too similar to an existing referee skin in the game. However, a few content creators had already received the skin before Epic made the decision, so they were allowed to keep it.

The result is a skin owned by only a handful of players in the entire world. Every other skin on this list ended up rare because of a limited window, a discontinued bundle, or a licence that lapsed. Sideline Commander is rare because it was never supposed to be in anyone's locker at all. That is what makes it the undisputed number one.

So that's the top 10 rarest skins in Fortnite right now. From discontinued hardware bundles to exclusive tournament cosmetics and a skin that was never released to the public. While some could potentially return in the future, others have no known way to obtain them today. For longtime players, owning one of these outfits is more than just a cosmetic choice, it is a piece of Fortnite history that most players may never get their hands on. Do you have any of these rare skins in the game?
