If you're looking for Capuchin Monkey Locations in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you've come to the right place. Capuchin Monkeys are one of the many wildlife species you can hunt across the Caribbean, and they're an important source of Capuchin Monkey Pelts used for crafting and unlocking equipment. Fortunately, you only need to visit two islands to hunt them, although there's another way to obtain their pelts later in the game. In this guide, I'll show you every Capuchin Monkey location, explain what materials they drop, and cover every use for those materials.

Where to Find Capuchin Monkeys
Fortunately, Capuchin Monkeys only spawn on two islands, making them one of the easier animals to farm. Since both locations are relatively small, you shouldn't have much trouble spotting them once you start exploring inland.
Capuchin Monkey Locations
| Island | Availability |
|---|---|
| Misteriosa | Found Naturally |
| New Bone | Found Naturally |
Personally, I prefer hunting on Misteriosa because the monkeys are fairly easy to spot while exploring the island. However, New Bone is just as good if you're already visiting the area for collectibles or other activities.
Tip: Before you start hunting, equip the Exotic Sea Shells trinket. It doubles the amount of animal products you receive when skinning wildlife, which means you'll need to hunt far fewer monkeys. If you haven't unlocked it yet, check out our How to Get Exotic Sea Shells guide.
What Do Capuchin Monkeys Drop?
Unlike some larger wildlife that provides multiple crafting materials, Capuchin Monkeys only drop one resource.
| Animal | Material |
|---|---|
| Capuchin Monkey | Capuchin Monkey Pelt |
Every monkey you skin rewards a Capuchin Monkey Pelt, which is primarily used for crafting and purchasing specific gear. Since you'll need several pelts for upgrades, I'd recommend keeping them instead of selling them during the early game.
How to Get Capuchin Monkey Pelts Without Hunting
If you'd rather skip hunting altogether, there's another option. Once you've fully upgraded the General Store at Great Inagua, every General Store in the Caribbean will begin selling Capuchin Monkey Pelts.

| Method | Details |
|---|---|
| General Store | Costs 4 Bones per Capuchin Monkey Pelt |
| Requirement | Fully upgrade the Great Inagua General Store |
This is a great alternative if you've already collected plenty of Bones and don't feel like revisiting wildlife locations. Even so, I still prefer hunting because it's usually faster than farming Bones just to buy crafting materials.

What Can You Do With Capuchin Monkey Pelts?
Capuchin Monkey Pelts are one of the earliest wildlife materials you'll collect in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. While they don't have many crafting recipes, both of their uses are worth unlocking, especially if you rely on pistols during combat.
You'll need Capuchin Monkey Pelts for the following:
- Crafting the Level 2 Pistol Ammo Pouch
- Purchasing the Peaceful Means Pistols from the Treasure Dealer
- Selling for Reales if you have extras
Craft the Level 2 Pistol Ammo Pouch
One of the best ways to spend your first Capuchin Monkey Pelts is on the Level 2 Pistol Ammo Pouch. This upgrade increases Edward's maximum pistol ammunition, letting you carry more rounds before needing to restock. Since pistols play a much bigger role in Resynced's combat system through mechanics like Quick Shot and Gun Kata, having extra ammo makes both stealth and open combat much easier.
| Upgrade | Effect | Materials Required |
|---|---|---|
| Pistol Ammo Pouch II | Increases maximum pistol ammo capacity | 2× Capuchin Monkey Pelt |
Personally, I'd prioritize this upgrade as soon as you have enough pelts. More ammunition means fewer trips to General Stores, and you'll have enough shots for longer boarding sequences and difficult encounters.
Buy the Peaceful Means Pistols
Capuchin Monkey Pelts are also required to purchase the Peaceful Means Pistols from the Treasure Dealer in Great Inagua. These legendary pistols are designed for stealth-focused players because their shots generate significantly less noise, making it easier to eliminate enemies without immediately alerting nearby guards.
| Requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Capuchin Monkey Pelt | 3 |
| Iguana Leather | 4 |
| Rum Barrels | 20 |
| Reales | 5,000 |
If you enjoy sneaking through enemy camps or completing Assassin Contracts without raising alarms, I'd definitely recommend saving enough pelts for this weapon before selling any extras.
Sell Extra Pelts for Reales
After you've crafted every upgrade and purchased the Peaceful Means Pistols, any additional Capuchin Monkey Pelts become surplus materials. Rather than letting them sit in your inventory, you can sell them at a General Store to earn some extra Reales.
It's not the fastest money-making method in the game, but it can provide a small boost if you're saving for ship upgrades or expensive equipment. If your goal is to earn money quickly, I'd recommend checking out our How to Farm Reales Fast guide instead.
