Pets are a brand new addition in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced that were not in the original 2013 game. There are nine animal companions available to find and unlock, and once you have them, they will hang around the Jackdaw and your manor at Great Inagua. How to Equip Pets in AC Black Flag Resynced

Once you have unlocked a pet in AC Black Flag Resynced, open your Inventory menu and equip it in the dedicated pet slot at the end of the screen. You can swap between pets at any time so there is no permanent commitment to a specific companion.

Pets in AC Black Flag Resynced are purely cosmetic and do not provide any gameplay advantage or stat bonuses. Once equipped, your pet will appear on the deck of the Jackdaw, inside your cabin, and around the manor at Great Inagua. Their behaviour can change depending on what is happening around them so they may become more animated during combat encounters or storms but this has no effect on how the game actually plays. They are there purely to keep you company on the high seas.
