Where to Find John Wick's Dog in Fortnite

The dog doesn't always show up in the same spot, so don't get locked into one landing zone. The spawn locations appear to be random from match to match, but two POIs have been reliable so far:

  • Sinister Strip - Inside the southern building with two cube rifle statues in the lobby.
  • The Battlewoods - Down in the sewers underground

Other players say that once you get close to where the dog is hiding, his location pops up on your mini map; However, it doesn't really happen to me. So if the same happens to you, try these two locations above. If you are lucky, the marker might pop up right away.

How to Rescue and Pet John Wick's Dog

When you reach him for the first time, the dog is locked in a cage with armed guards standing watch. You can't free him until every guard is down. Here are the steps to claim your new best friend:

  1. Land at Sinister Strip or The Battlewoods and grab some loot.
  2. Top off your shields before you push, since the guards hit hard up close.
  3. Take out the first wave of guards near the cage and clear the extra guards that rift in right after the first group falls.
  4. Interact with the cage to open it.
  5. Press the interact button on the dog to pet him and lock in the unlock.

One nice bonus: clearing the guards and freeing the dog can also reward you with loot, including a chance at a Legendary Lancehead Pistol, John Wick's signature sidearm.

How to Unlock John Wick's Dog as Sidekick

To actually keep John Wick's Dog as a Sidekick, you need to own the Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass. Without it, you can free the pup and pet him all day, but he won't stick around in your locker. If you're not picking up the Battle Pass, your time is better spent chasing free cosmetics elsewhere this season.

Once unlocked, John Wick's Dog lands in your Sidekicks inventory as the Dog (Pen & Ink) style. He works a little differently from other Sidekicks. Normally, you have to commit to a final look, but with this dog, you don't need to lock anything in, so feel free to swap his look whenever you want.

You can already toggle a few things, like whether he wears a collar and whether he uses the pen-and-ink look or a gradient style. The rest unlocks the more you play with him equipped, earning Sidekick points along the way:
