The Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite collaboration is here, and it's turning out to be a much bigger deal than most people were expecting. Here's everything you need to know about the collaboration, including who's coming, when they drop, what they cost, and how to actually get them.
The Kingdom Hearts x Fortnite Collaboration
This collab has had a long, messy road to launch. Word of it first surfaced back in February 2026, when dataminers started pulling fragments from Fortnite's game files. Then it got officially confirmed at the start of Chapter 7 Season 4 in August, but still with no release date, and things went quiet for a while after that.
On September 13th, the official Fortnite account posted a short teaser video with just four words: "It's officially happening. Sora is coming to Fortnite this week." And the wait was finally over.
Not only that, on September 15th, 2026, Fortnite added another trailer for Kingdom Hearts, and people were going crazy about it. The song that was used in the trailer actually brings back all the nostalgic memories for huge fans since it was Sanctuary by Utada Hikaru, the opening theme for Kingdom Hearts 2. What makes this collab stand out isn't just that Sora is here. It's that four Kingdom Hearts characters are dropping at the same time. That almost never happens. Most Fortnite crossovers bring in one character, occasionally two. Getting Sora, Roxas, Riku, and Kairi all in one go is surprising.

Sora is the main character of the Kingdom Hearts series and the obvious face of this collab. He's arriving in his Kingdom Hearts 2 design with the red, black, and yellow outfit plus the signature spiky hair. But he also has different styles that you can choose between the three series. Roxas, Riku, and Kairi round out the lineup.
When Do the Kingdom Hearts Skins Drop?
The collaboration with Kingdom Hearts arrived on Thursday, September 17th, at the same time as the Chapter 7 Season 4 v42.20 update is scheduled to drop. Here's the release window in your time zone, based on a standard Fortnite update schedule:

How to Get the Kingdom Hearts Skins in Fortnite
Getting the skins is pretty easy and mostly uses the same steps as usual. Here's exactly what to do:
- Open Fortnite on your platform. The skins will be available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and mobile.
- Go to the Item Shop from the main lobby. It's the store tab on the right side of the screen.
- Find the Kingdom Hearts section. Big collabs always get a featured spot at the top of the shop.
- Choose your skins. Buy individually or look for a bundle if you want the full four. You'll need V-Bucks to purchase.
- Head to your Locker and equip the skin before your next match, and that's all!

The tournament takes place on Friday, September 18th, and will be available as a Solo Battle Royale competition in both Builds and Zero Build. Players who place high enough in their region can earn the Kingdom Hearts cosmetic rewards.
